Leaving us signed in "improvement"
Apologies, I am not ignoring you.
Now that they are leaving people signed in, the on-line indicator does mean anything about me. I typically just walk away without signing off. Been doing that for years, trusting that cc will sign me out. Now in some incredible act of rectal cranial inversion, they have decided it would be a good idea to leave people signed in.
I still just walk away. I occasionally remember to sign out. But it is not a habit I am in a hurry to acquire.
So just because it says I am on-line, don't believe it and please don't get upset that I don't answer your wall or pm post. I am probably sleeping peacefully, ignoring this "improvement".

Suggest an auto log-out function.

Hm, that's strange. It should be able to parse whether someone's online or not, even with the person logged in. Most every other site I know that leaves users signed in shows folks who's currently active and who's not.

maybe we are cooking the books to get the "users online" number artificially inflated, like the books were just cooked for total users... hmmmm... the chef is hard at work!!

Re: Leaving us signed in "improvement"
This originally came out of a user's suggestion because he didn't want to log in every time and didn't want to use a password manager. It was stickied/submitted in Suggestions for years before it happened. And it was the winner of the user vote for the guaranteed suggestion implementation. So whoever is to blame, it's really not the administration.
That being said, they'd probably be open to fixing the online status part by no longer showing that after a specified time (15 minutes?).

of all the possible suggestions out there, sure lets cater to the lazy paranoid guy who dont want his password remembered.
cant wait till i can buy one of my cc friends an e-flower with some of my cc credits or a snazzy looking childish avatar that everyone can envy.

Well I'm with you on that one. I didn't vote for it, and if you look back at the original thread, I came down on the guy pretty hard on asking for this when there are simple solutions to this problem and much more important things to do.
But it's what 18 people wanted, so...

Blake, that's what I thought.
I for one am happy I don't have to continually enter my password when I log in. Now, if I was taken directly to Central Command, I'd be even happier. =)

All you need to do is set your bookmark to Central Command and it will.
