Hats off to Ohio State. They played well tonight and, unlike Bama who were too inconsistent over the course of the game, looked very much like a team deserving of a National Championship appearance.

Strike, I know your a fan of Georgia who is in the SEC, but I could not help but laugh and cheer as Bama, Ole Miss, and Miss State all went down in big bowl games.

I also greatly enjoyed Oregon steamrolling FSU. That was pretty fun to watch.

Yeah. So far the East is undefeated in bowl games. Either way, the past three years have been kind of a downward trend for the SEC. Not so much in bowl wins but I kind of feel like a lot of the teams have gotten away from the balance that made us so formidable in the past and gotten kind of started leaning more towards offense. There are some exceptions of course but Florida beat Ohio State and Oklahoma because they had both a great offense and a good defense. Auburn had a great offense the year they defeated Oregon but their defense also stepped up against what was being touted as one of the best offenses of all time. Alabama up until this year had been defense first with a standard hit you in the mouth offense to control the game. LSU was great defensively when they won their national championship a few years back with Les Miles (I can't remember how good they were defensively when they won it with Saban). The last few years, the SEC has seemed to lean more and more towards great offenses in their statement teams than defense. Of course that said, the opposite (all defense, no offense) is what has plagued Florida the last two years.
