ya this aint too bad...you need not 37 countries cause thats the weirdest number possible...definitely dont use black for new hampshire (vermont maybe? i dno which ones is which)
dont make it impassible between vermont and new hampshire thats just gay as hell
red's bonus is way too small...it should be about 6
other wise good start

Do people just completely skip the How to Make a Map thread?

Sorry, I did this in the GIMP. I'm sorry if the graphics are that horrendous. I figured that since this was a rough draft, I needn't worry about that yet. But if it makes you feel better, I'll do what I can.

oooh I like! esp with the ferry routes and such. and you could split up King Co. with the lakes and the western counties with the islands. great idea!!! I'd make another thread though and let each map develop on it's own, as they might head in two totally separate directions and we end up with two great maps. BTW, this would really help me learn the area better! lol

New England + NY Map *First Draft*
1st Draft:
Original Outline: http://img510.imageshack.us/img510/1382/newenglanddl6.jpg
Number of countries: 38
Notes:
I know there is another map out there. I have been working on this for a week, and I noticed that as I was about to post this, another New England map came up.
I know New York isn't a part of New England, but it really adds to the map. Plus, the mountain ranges of New England and that part of New York are the same, so I'm just going to count it in.
Updates since first post:
Newer graphics
Block Island and Monadmonk removed
Borders altered a bit
Currently Working On:
Compass in the ocean
Borders (suggestions wanted, I am already thinking the Connecticut River between Vermont and NH and the ___ [forgot name] River between Portsmouth and The Coast)[/img]

No offense taken. As I stated earlier, I'm not that great with graphics. I'll try and spruce it up a bit once I get the chance. I'm in finals week right now, so I might not get around to it soon.
