ya this aint too bad...you need not 37 countries cause thats the weirdest number possible...definitely dont use black for new hampshire (vermont maybe? i dno which ones is which)
dont make it impassible between vermont and new hampshire thats just gay as hell
red's bonus is way too small...it should be about 6
other wise good start

Do people just completely skip the How to Make a Map thread?

Sorry, I did this in the GIMP. I'm sorry if the graphics are that horrendous. I figured that since this was a rough draft, I needn't worry about that yet. But if it makes you feel better, I'll do what I can.

I would like to make a map with more of the Puget Sound in it, not just Seattle.

Should this be in a new thread?

Here are a couple maps i am thinking about...

oooh I like! esp with the ferry routes and such. and you could split up King Co. with the lakes and the western counties with the islands. great idea!!! I'd make another thread though and let each map develop on it's own, as they might head in two totally separate directions and we end up with two great maps. BTW, this would really help me learn the area better! lol

I didn't mean to offend, apologies if I did. I realise this is your first rough draft, it just makes it hard to gauge the potential quality of the map when drafts are so rough.

New England + NY Map *First Draft*

Post by Whoa its Pete »

1st Draft:
Image

Original Outline: http://img510.imageshack.us/img510/1382/newenglanddl6.jpg

Number of countries: 38

Notes:
I know there is another map out there. I have been working on this for a week, and I noticed that as I was about to post this, another New England map came up.

I know New York isn't a part of New England, but it really adds to the map. Plus, the mountain ranges of New England and that part of New York are the same, so I'm just going to count it in.

Updates since first post:
Newer graphics
Block Island and Monadmonk removed
Borders altered a bit

Currently Working On:
Compass in the ocean
Borders (suggestions wanted, I am already thinking the Connecticut River between Vermont and NH and the ___ [forgot name] River between Portsmouth and The Coast)[/img]

You should use a better graphics program (this looks like it was done in Paint) if you want to go on with this idea.

No offense taken. As I stated earlier, I'm not that great with graphics. I'll try and spruce it up a bit once I get the chance. I'm in finals week right now, so I might not get around to it soon.

Sure, some help would be good. I think you have a few things in your map that may make this one a bit better.

"You will get bonuses for holding industrial/shipyard planets like Fondor, Corellia, Kuat, Endor"

In between 3/4,Endor would not have been a industrial planet, as the Death Star 2 was not startedyet. Endor would have been a backwater nothing place.

Anyway, a SW map would be very cool

It's hard to read the territory names in maine, and you should include long island (south of the coast of conneciticut), and take out another territory.

Yea, I was thinking of taking out Block Island, and leaving the tip of Long Island, making it either 1 or 2 countries.

I have some ideas that I can pull off of my map, and throw them on this one.

I might not get around to it for a while, so just hang tight.

if you get the copy right I bieleve you could use some of the maps from the video games such as battle front 2 and edit them slightly. We could split the planets into several territorys.
