Well, first things I'd check out if I hadn't been here for a few years are Trench & Polymorphic. =D>

Unless you were a huge speed-freak you shouldn't be too disappointed. A lot to get used to, and a lot to have subjective opinions about. But besides from freestyle-speed games, and to a lesser degree escalating, I can't see many objective arguments for how the site has declined.

Owen: Your logic isn't necessarily correct. I can bet you that if no change was ever made to CC, the membership would not remain constant, but rise or fall pretty much every day. People stop playing games that no changes are made to, simply because the world changes, newer games, fresher trends etc come into being.
But we could argue this all day. I'd be more interested in a list of changes you deem have damaged CC. I'm sure there are negative changes, I just haven't really noticed many

Nobody knows me so my opinion is likely shit but I will spew it none the less...

I used to purchase premium on a regular basis. Even if I took a year break from the site, I would return to buy premium just to support the site and those who were still here. Premium is a laughable joke for me now looking at what this community has boiled down to.

By comparison of what I recall, it's a ghost-town around here - from games to chat - I honestly came here for the people in the community.

I have one game going now, but as soon as I win that, you can bet I won't be back for some time again. The Conquer Club I recall has gone missing, and that honestly makes me a little sad.

as much as all of you hate to admit it. owen has always been amusing on this site. granted, he is pretty vocal on most things. and occasionally back in the day would cry wolf on some topics. but i always looked at it like he was showing the mods the hypocrisy of their ways.

i miss flame wars a lot. it was always an enjoyable read, and such a site as this should have shit talking somewhere.

i miss the non lag of this site. i have played a few games and it is awful. how do you play freestyle anymore?

freestyle doesn't exist as you know it... they changed the rules and ran the freestyle players off... if you look around, there isn't much of what you remember around here... increased game options, new crap maps (that map medal has ruined the foundry in my opinion.. blitz proved that...), clan wars becoming their own odd conundrum of map/setting specialist choosing the settings that will all but guarantee a victory, forums are all but dead (save the 20 or so regular posters.. and i don't count the clan and foundry threads, you know what i mean, the community threads)... anyway.. they are making changes to the site to try and drive the numbers back up to where they were and beyond (and from what i've heard on the down low a lot of it is stuff that was suggested years ago...)... so, i have hope... but, i really fear that the community we all knew and loved will never return.. so many have left or been banned or grew tired of the oppression in the forums, the lack punishment on actual GAME CHEATING (to this day, forum offenders receive harsher penalties than game cheats)... you missed some scandals too... mods abusing their power, including one using it to climb to conqueror... then receiving a slap on the wrist instead of the ol' wicked heave ho'... sigh... i'm old, this tires me, i need to take a nap...-Jésus noir

The lag is so bad that i just lost a game because of it. The server times out and I canceled, attempted another attack, and bam, I've suddenly lost all my pieces and my reinforcement, the turn is over. If i were paying I'd be really pissed. Is it better for premium? I got tired of playing a couple of years ago but everything was working correctly.

A lot of new features have been added and the old servers couldn't handle it.

New servers are coming Sunday. Next week performance should be up by a lot.
