This is a Tournament Players Association Year 5 [TPA5] event, and is governed by its rules, guidelines, and judgments which are detailed here: viewtopic.php?f=89&t=207126
All are welcome to join and participate in the association. You do not need to do anything more than join one or more of the TPA5 events that will be announced on Mondays. Check back on the scoreboard to see how you're doing:

This is a premier tournament. It will be a standard tournament and use the standard settings (Std, Auto, Esc, Chained, No Fog, No Trench) plus a 20 round limit. Maps in this tournament will be as follows: Classic, Montreal, Vancouver, New York City, London, Moscow, Pot Mosbi, Jakarta, Madrid, Istanbul, Sydney and Sydney Metro. I will not be competing in this tournament, but I will be participating to help make the numbers even. I can accommodate anywhere between 30 players and 95 players. Once you sign up, you will be mapranked on each of the 12 maps. For each map, I will create a list from best to worst. When I start assigning games, I will take the top X of people needed and put them in a game, then the next, etc, so the best on each map are competing against each other. For maps where I need to fill in, I will start adding myself into the games beginning at the bottom of the list. My scores will not count in any games. When I finish last in a game, there will be no eliminations from that particular game. As players get eliminated, you will be playing some different players on each map, but it depends on who gets eliminated, etc. I will set this tournament to last seven rounds, but it is quite possible that it will end before then if we have a clear winner.
In each round, you will play a 3 player and a 4 player game on each map. Since this is a total of 24 games, I will send them out over the course of a week. Scoring for the 3 player games will be 4 points to win, 2 for second and one for third. Scoring for the four player games will be 5 points to win, 4 for second, 2 for third and 1 for fourth. All points will be multiplied by the round number (for example, winning a 3 player game in round 7 nets you 28 points).
When you finish last on a map, you no longer compete on that map for the remainder of the tourney. For example, in round 2 you might win your four player game on London, but if you lose the 3 player game, you will not get any more games on London. This is known as a partial elimination. Players are fully eliminated from the tournament when they can no longer win the tournament. Any player who fails to accept a batch of invites may be fully eliminated at the discretion of the TO. Players who are not premium when I am ready to send out the next round of games will be fully eliminated. If I notice players have not been on the site in some time, they will also be removed from the tourney.
For each round, you will get a max of 2 invites. Miss both invites, and you are out of the tourney. However, if more than 5% of the invites get missed on the first invite for any round, all players who have accepted all of their invites on the first invite will earn an extra two points. Exceptions will be dealt with on a case by case basis.
Finally, a GA medal will be given to the person who gets the most wins as long as they do not win the tournament. If that person does win the tournament, it goes to the person with the next most wins.

RULE CHANGE POSTED 12/1/14: If, in any round, the number of players remaining on a particular map drops to 4 or less, there will be no eliminations on that map in that round. For example, say there are 7 players left, meaning there would be 3 three player games and 2 four player games. If a different person is eliminated in all 5 games, we would be down to 2 players, so no eliminations would happen for that map for that round. If in the next round, we only have 2 eliminations (theoretically possible if I finished last in all the games I played), those 2 would be eliminated and we would go forward with 5. Further, any players fully eliminated would not be eliminated for that map only.
