Negative?

Post by alex_white101 »

Is it worth a negative feedback if, in a very even 3 player standard game, one player makes 2 or 3 very poor decisions and basically gifts the game to one of the other players whilst denying the other the chance to win.

is this worth a negative?

edit : im talking about several shockingly bad decisions which would have gone against all logical thinking. not just common errors.

No.

What you think might be mistakes could be a cunning piece of strategy that just didn't work.

A difference in playing style is not worthy of neg feedback.
Poor decisions are not worthy of neg feedback.
IMO neg feedback for this would indicate that the giver of the neg f/b is a poor sport.

For me, neg f/b is only worthy in cases of d/beats, language that is to me quite foul, (I do have a pretty high tolerance tho'), un-justifiable accusations of cheating or continual complaining and other such carry-on.

(In team games, things such as no communication, no thought for team members moves etc could also warrant neg f/b)

Just my opinion and I am sure others have different ones.

Ooh i love that one. I have tons of cunning strategies =)
Thats the risk of three player games, if you really wanted to you could pretty much choose who wins out of your opponents.
Unless the other player is out to get you... like say they attack you because they hate your guts, its not worth a negitave, just a bad mistake.

That could happen in any game.

I see no problem with negative feedback in this case. Positive feedback is mostly given for players with good tactics. Therefore I see no reason (and nothing is mentioned in the guidelines) that the converse should not be equally true, ie. that negative feedback can be given for poor tactics.
If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?

If someone plays badly, and doesn't apologise, they deserve neg feedback.

I think someone has to know they've played badly to offer an apology. Not a lot of people know they play bad.

I never leave negative feedback for bad play. Everyone's made dumb moves in games, why point out the obvious? How about instead of leaving feedback, offer constructive criticism? Explain in a nice way how what they did affects the game. Negative feedback is just going to piss the other person off, not change their game play.

For me the question is,

Is this person really this bad of a player or is he/she purposely suiciding on me. I have seen stuff so dumb it can't be an accident.

that was my line of reasoning, i really couldnt see how the moves made could benefit him in any way at all. i left a neutral feedback, i dont know if this was warranted and i will remove it if the majority think i should.

I agree there.

I was once in a game where one of my opponents suicided me every turn. he said he was "making an example of what happens when someone breaks his continent".

I was going to leave neg feedback, but he appologized and left me alone for the rest of the game.

If someone is playing everything against you, try to talk it out with them and find out why.
