Jigs Choose Your Own Adventure Tourney [Winner: dazza2008]

Post by jigger1986 »

Greetings fellow CC tournament enthusiasts!

In a effort towards getting some more tournaments going Ive decided to run a tournament based on the wishes of the public.

Jigs choose your own adventure tourney will be very simple...

In each round I will release a list of players
Each player will tell me what game they would like to play (any map, any settings, any game type NO TEAMS, any amount of players, NO SPEED GAMES!), the only mandatory setting will be a 20 round limit
The game will be made with an opponent(s) chosen at random (random.org) using the settings chosen
To move to the next round all a player must do is win 1 game, they may be many opportunities as opponent will be chosen at random, when signing up know that it is possible to be playing many game in each round (but not very likely)

Rules
At the beginning of each round I will send a PM to all players with an updated roster
Players will have 24 hours to send me their game choice, any player who does not respond will not have a home map and risk being eliminated
Players who do not join games within 48 hours will be eliminated
This system will continue until a clear winner emerges

Due to possible game loads only premium players may enter
No buys and no replacements....

Don't you think once someone has been randomly chosen as an opponent, you should withdraw him from the list, so that someone can't be chosen twice - and that everyone is chosen once to play on an "away" setting?

If the player chooses a team game they will also choose their teammates

Teammates have to be playing in this tournament right?
Do they have to agree first ?

To answer the 2 questions...

1.I dont want to take the randomly chosen players out of the list, it removes the randomness. Some people might play 10 games, some might play 1 (its fun that way)
Also im guessing that there may be more spots for opponents than games (ex. not everyone will choose a 1v1 game, someone may choose an 8 player freestyle game)

2.Yes they have to be in the tourney, no they will not know.

Basically by signing up players agree to play all games they are chosen for (both random and in teams)

I'm still trying to develop an image of how this will work. So, on each person's round, everybody plays the same type of game? Or is it just the people that were chosen, and the others sit out the round?

Each round all players will define their own games

Example:

There are 9 players left, P1-P9

P1 wants to play random 1v1-his opponent is chosen at random P4
P2 wants to play 2v2 with , their random opponents are chosen P5 and P9
P3 wants to play Feudal War 1v1 freestyle, his/her opponent is chose at random P2
P4 wants to play 9 player standard esc, all players are chosen

Everyone picks one game to play, all opponents are chosen at random, teammates (if team game is chosen will be removed from the opponent list)
All you have to do is win 1 game per round to move on, however in some rounds a player may only play 1 game, while others could play 5+ (its completely random)

I have added a new rule stating that the same team cannot be made in the same round.

Ex Players P1-P4 all make a deal to select a quads game and choose eachother, therefore guaranteeing themselves 4 chances to move to the next round

Ah, cool! Thank you for clarifying. I was staying in regardless, but now it's for sure...:)
