Re: the longest thread, thread - Occasionally NSFW
Funnily enough, I actually just found an HR job. I will probably hate it and get out as soon as I find a better job but until then I kind of know that having HR experience will probably help me get that better job and it should pay enough that I can move out of my parents' house and everything.

Hey, congrats! It's always nice when you have less standing in your way than you expected.
thanks yeah!! i can't wait!!! to be done!
You say that, but then you realize that no one wants to hire you. I'm currently in month 2 of post-graduation job hunting with few prospects. Not saying to despair but be forewarned.
I graduated college a little over three years ago, and it definitely took me awhile to find a job that actually pays well. I worked two and three jobs at a time after school for a few years, but all that hard work (college) really does eventually pay off. I wish you the best of luck in your job-hunting adventure!! My only advice would be to keep an open mind.
My big problem is that there aren't many jobs in my field in my area. So my options are more likely than not to find a job in another area (requiring a move) or going to grad school and hiding from the real world for a few more years (also likely to require a move). But I don't wanna move.
I haven't given up on finding a job where I'm at though (I had two interviews in two days) but it's been a bit discouraging (I haven't heard back from either interview either way). I'll just keep plugging and see where I end up.
Also congrats Strike! Hope your new job goes well.

So many young people are finding themselves in similar predicaments and end up underemployed with mounds of school-related debts...it just seems to be the norm these days. I hope you're able to break the mold and get the type of job you're looking for!!!! Good luck!

In the throes of packing up the house to say goodbye to NJ. Godalmighty, but there's a lot of uneccessary stuff in this house! Multiple trips to the garbage tip, multiple trips to local charities, frnatic ebaying, and there's still too much. When did we buy all this crap?

Yeah, the new house is about half the size of this one - God knows why we got such a big place when we got here. I think we expected more visitors from the UK and made sure we had room. Instead it was just space to store more unnecessary nonsense.

Yeah Jonesy. I am pretty sure that buying a house that has room for guests and a garage for cars both of which eventually turn into storage space is part of the American Dream.

I think you're right. I read something about that in The American Dream for Dummies.

And the "white picket fence" is really just a chain link fence.

I was thinking more of a minefield. To keep out all the guests that didn't come to the big house but that will no doubt come in droves to the small one.

Just ask Justin Bieber to move in next door.
