average of ratings that players have left for others
we have the new system that shows your personal ratings, but just as frustrating can be when you join a game where the other guy is notorious for leaving bad feedback/ratings for others. It might be nice to have the average ratings that a player has left for others next to his own personal rating.
I believe this could help avoid complaints about "this guy is a jerk for leaving me a bad feedback" that way if you play with a player that is known for leaving bad feedback/ratings its on you for playing with him.
Also I think this would encourage players to to think twice about leaving bad feedback ad make sure it is really warranted , instead of a knee jerk reaction to a loss.
Over all I also believe that it would make for a friendlier site, with less complaints about negative feedback and ratings. It would show/wake up some people that possibly they are over critical of other players game play ect.
player name *3.0(R) * 3.0(L) also it would be helpful turns taken avg. was shown instead of having to look into someones profile
your thoughts CC???

Average ratings left as well ratings received.
Average ratings left as well ratings received.
On a players profile page, not only should the average ratings received be displayed but the average ratings that have been left by the player
There are certain players who only leave bad ratings EEEE4 is a very good example. By having the 'ratings left' average displayed on profile page (or even next to their name) this will give other players a heads up on the fact that this player is a bad looser and will probably leave you a bad rating. It will also encourage players to think a bit more about the ratings they leave.
Thus making cc a more harmonius place to be.

Re: Average ratings left as well ratings received.
I understand where you're coming from, however this just leads people into obsessing about score and ratings more than they already do. It's a game, it's supposed to be fun. Make it that way.
Re: Average ratings left as well ratings received.
Ratings are completely meaningless.
The vast majority of my bad ratings are either because I told someone to cry more when they bitched about dice or called them out on being a completely incompetent assassin player - yet I get full 1 stars for those, including gameplay/fair play.

ratings are indeed meaningless and feedback was much more reliable.

the score system and the ratings system are a total failure on CC.

I'll admit that I don't like either. But I've attempted to design an alternate system, and ran into some problems. This system is decently balanced for the effort it takes to make a proper ranking system.

Gentlemen, let's not turn this into another thread bashing the ratings system. If you have on-topic comments about this particular suggestion, please add them.

Re: Average ratings left as well ratings received.
I know the current ratings system isn't great and open to abuse, by having ratings left as well as ratings received, this will go some way to stop the abuse or at least highlight the abuse of the system.

By adding ratings left, would help stop this type of abuse, although your still going to get idiots who only give crap ratings, but with this system at least you will know who they are.

how will you know ?
i don't go to every player's profile page to check that stuff out and even if i did, what would i do with that info ?
this suggestion seems like a waste of time for the coders, testers and anyone who is interested in the result.

If it was next to the players name, as is current ratings received, you wouldn't need to check everyones profile page. Its up to you what you do with the information, I personally wouldn't join a game with someone who's 'left ratings' were 1.0

why not?
their opinion of other people has no impact on the game.

Because unless he/she's been very unlucky and only played very bad players a rating of 1.0 would show that that player is abviously a prick!
I have noticed that most rude and unpleasent players that i'v played against tend to only leave only bad ratings for everyone.

Re: Average ratings left as well ratings received.
but those rude players will have low ratings against them so what additional info does this provide ?

i have come up with a point system that's perfectly functional and actually represents the true value of a player. heck it even penalizes noob farmers and certain settings abusers but the formula is rather long and complicated and the reason it's been turned down is precisely that. apparently it's more important for the formula to be understandable even by a retarded monkey than to actually represent the value of a player.
i won't get into the details of explaining it again because there's no point but here's how the formula looks:
[LS*(LEM-LPM)*(LES-LPS)]/[WS*(WEM-WPM)*(WES-WPS)]*20 = X <= 100

Show average for Ratings Left
Concise description:
On my ratings page I can see the average rating I have received from other players. I think it would be cool to see the average rating I have left my opponents.
How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
- Easily see who is abusing the ratings system
- Be interesting to see if ratings received average is the same as ratings left

Ratings Left Statistic
Concise description:
Specifics/Details:
I imagine ratings are similar to product feedback in that many probably only leave a rating (or feedback) when there's been a negative experience. Adding the attribute average to the ratings left will allow players to see what they typically say about other players. We will also know others can see our average too, which will encourage players to leave good ratings for good players to keep their average higher so when people view their ratings left, they don't come off as a poor sport or complainer. My attribute averages are probably terrible.. lol
- When viewing ratings left on player ratings details, add the average of the attributes table to the top just as when viewing your own ratings.
Specifics/Details:
- Add this to the 'Ratings Left' tab:
Attribute Average
Fair Play Star 4.7 (rated by 293 players)
Gameplay Star 4.5 (rated by 293 players)
Attitude Star 4.5 (rated by 291 players)
Overall Star 4.5 (rated by 295 players)

Re: average of ratings that players have left for others
I read this thread and another thread of changing the ratings system.. both seem to be way off course of what I suggested..
I'm simply suggesting putting the same table of averages you see at the top of the 'Ratings Received' page to the top of the 'Ratings Left' page.
To me, it just makes sense that both ratings received and ratings left are displayed in the same way.
I only put more description to it because the post format suggested I did.. but really, it's just common sense.
How hard can it be to copy the table over to the other page, and why the hell not?
That's what we should be discussing here, why is the averages on one page, but not the other?
It should either be on both, or neither... it just makes sense!!!!

Re: average of ratings that players have left for others
I mean heck.. this thread is full of suggestions to change ratings, talks about obsessions, broken ratings systems.. blah blah blah.. so here's my unrelated post..
The ratings is a great aspect of CC,, the people who think it's broke need to work on their own comprehension as any way you display it or calculate it or whatever, it serves the same purpose. It's a great tool in gameplay, for example, who to trust who not to trust, who's passive who's not.. etc.. also makes for fun reading. I pick random players and read their responses, that can be entertaining!
Above and beyond the two ratings pages being displayed the same, which is common sense, there should be one additional strategy option as such:
Poor Strategy
Good Strategy
BadaBing Strategy
And now the world is one step closer to complete.
