jghost7 wrote:Thanks BG. It does somewhat. However, I don't understand how it got classified only under game throwing. How was it determined that it fit there as opposed to the point dumping rule? There was obviously intent to 'pass points to other people', which is clearly defined within the point dumping definition.[/qoute]

I considered this game throwing because the players agreed to let one or the other wind certain games and tried to control the points won and lost. The winners of the games were predetermined making it game throwing. I feel point dumping is when someone is trying to cause havoc with the scoreboard by giving away all or most of their points.

jghost7 wrote:I also see where game throwing and illegal point collecting are listed as major infractions as well, but they are listed separately. I would assume from this as they can be done independently from one another and hence have their own charge. So, if you classified this in the major infractions category, would you then be charged with 1 count of game throwing, and 1 count of illegal point collecting? If guilty would you then skip to the second step of the punishment scale?

I don't think so. In this case then we should have found the guilty of a major infraction for every game that they played. Our intention isn't to get rid of members because they did something against our rules. Hopefully they will change their ways.

jghost7 wrote:Point Splitting, or 'Point Sharing' as ES labeled it, was not directly addressed under his reply to the charges. I am assuming since he stated after defining it, that deliberately throwing games is illegal, then by definition 'Point Sharing' is also illegal? I think that this is an important point from that case, his quote below:

Evil Semp wrote:Point sharing is an agreement which two [or more] players from a multi player game agree to let one of them win and then let the other win multiple 1v1 games to even out the points from the multi player game. Deliberately throwing a games is not allowed and is considered a major infraction.

Pershing has received a WARNING for game throwing. This is his second major infraction so he will also receive a 1 MONTH VACATION from CC.

Doing our research we found several more members of CC who engaged in this activity with Pershing. Ciglione, aglenist and celliottii also have received WARNINGS for game throwing. All players mentioned here have also been blocked from playing any ore games together.

There may or may not be more warnings issued as we dig further into this sink hole.

I would just like to know so that when it comes back up again, we will know what to expect. I can see how it could be classified under both special and major, but I would expect in the case of Point Splitting or 'Point Sharing', either designation would end up with similar punishments.

I think that it specifically needs to be stated as such in order to deter future instances of it.

I called it point sharing because that is what is was called in the original complaint. Pershing let celliottii win the multi player game and then celliottii let Pershing win the 1v1 games. It was clear to me that game throwing is what occurred.

I hope that clears up how I was thinking.

Thanks ES.

A question:

Does 'illegal point collecting' or 'deliberately benefiting from thrown games' get played at all in the consideration of the charges on top of the thrown games?

Thanks,

J

It seems everyone who has defended these two cheats are in some way connected to them. Go back to your society that turns a blind eye to this behaviour.

In no way, was my remark intended to be a defense or allegation. It is just my opinion on the way the site works. Either people are consumed by points, thus making a big deal out of anything that seems to deter them from receiving them, or people care nothing about points and end up on the wrong side of the law. Myself, I play to win, but care zero about points.

I don't usually read the closed forum so sorry I haven't responded.

I took everything into consideration when the decision was made. I was the one who made the final decision on punishment and admin did not have any problems with what was decided. I felt the punishment was fitting. The object it to get them to stop what they were doing not get them to quit the site.

Thanks for responding. I was referring to that in general not just to this case.

maybe the system is wrong, and players just use it to there advantage! is it not possible to restrict the No of rounds[depending on No of players]and if this limit is reached ,no points are scored by anyone.this would stop players point splitting, and this might take the game back to basics and encourage players to go for a win!after all this is what "risk" was based on.

Yes, there is already an option when setting up a game to select a 'round limit'. When the round limit occurs, the player with the highest troop count wins.

This case has nothing to do with this. This case is where two players have made a secret deal to work together to let just one of them win the game. Then they split the points between them by playing some 1 on 1 games between them to pass over half of the points won.

This was NOT done to resolve a stalemate game. This was done to illegally extract as many points possible from unsuspecting players.

Either way, this case is closed and resolved now so everyone has moved on.

Killboy you retard you are an Ahole. You are still going on about your lose to me? Listen moron there was not "secret pact" No pre game disscussions to work as a team to kill you. It just worked out that way during the game. Ironically one the people I am banned from playing with Ciglione was your ally in this game and you too were ganging up on me! You are such a Pussy Kill Girl to come here and complain about someone kicking your ass in a game. Everything I did was legal normal play I just outplayed you period! Get over it! The point splitting thing an entirely different matter which you conveniently combined into your complaint here. The only thing really wrong with my point splitting is it not an approved way of ending a game. I just thought it a more reasonable ending in some situations. And remember Kill Girl you participated in one of the splits with me yourself! You are really the worst kind of player here totally self serving. So take all your lies and your whinning and tell it to your little side kick Willietown because who can tell how far his head is up your ass!
