He aims for the ball, the defender stops and he can't change direction midair. Comparing it with walking up to someone and bite him in the shoulder is ludicrous. A case can be made to give Ballotelli a red card but it's not a no brainer, the bite is always a red card, yet it was Italy who got the red card, not even for the challenge that could have been a red card, but for something that never was close to worthy of a red card. Italy should never have been given a red card and Uruguay none, and that was what happened. If the ref was competent he could've given one red card to both teams in these situations, but he could also have given Uruguay the only red card and still been competent, depending on how he views the Ballotelli hit. But in no situation is it valid to give Italy a red card and Uruguay none, not even mentioning that he awarded Italy a red card for the challenge that wasn't the one that could've been a red card, he gave it to them for something that never was a red card. Uruguay was helped ridicoulusly much by this incompetent referee.

Bollocks.
Either you are the referee or you are incorrect. Pick one.
AoG for President of the World!! I promise he will put George W. Bush to shame!

It's all photoshopped, we swear!
In all honesty though, if your team was going to lose its best player, wouldn't you fight tooth and nail to keep them from getting suspended?
I don't think Argentina fought when Maradona was suspended in the middle of World Cup 1994! and ofc there's no comparison between Suarez and Maradona in terms of effect and importance on field!
It's not the first time this prick bites an opponent.. an action needs to be taken to force him to get some control.. being a very good player doesn't mean you are above law!
I am playing devil's advocate with that argument. Obviously Suarez should be (and certainly will be) punished, but I'm also trying to see things from the Uruguayan perspective. Which, in this case, is to go for the "it's photoshopped" line.
As far as getting someone like Suarez to control themselves, I'd say people like that are beyond self control, especially on the third offense.
Did Suarez himself deny biting Chellini? I believe he said such things happen in the penalty box... It was seen live even before the photos, and there's the mark left on the Italian defender's shoulder! XD

Maradona was overaged and almost completely finished in the world cup 94, he had gone through detox a few times and if I remember well he was just playing for Boca Juniors as a trophy player back then. I'm sure he was more of a problem to deal with in the locker room forthe coach, and that he was secretly happy that he got kicked out of the world cup (yes I remember he did score a goal and went nuts and all.... just put aside the fact that he was a legend and tell me the footballer he really was back in 94).
Ok so France did a lot of turnover for this last game and was pretty lame. Well we did have many ocasions, but I don't know, we lost the dynamic of our game vs switzerland.

Ah ok... well, I mean even though Maradona was the leader, his team and national federation didn't defend him like Suarez's... let aside the locker room because we can't be sure what's in there. Argentina were gonna win the 1994 world cup had their best player not suspended. I know he's insane and asshole.
Any, I was answering the dude above who said anyone would defend his player even if guilty.. the 1994 stuff is not our main subject.

I don't know if Suarez denied it. Couldn't find anything to that effect. I do know that "photoshop" is Uruguay's argument to FIFA on the situation.

argentina sucked ass in 1994; are you going to say that Brasil with Romario, Bebeto, Rai, Dunga, Mauro Silva, Cafu, Aldair, Leonardo, Mazinho... even Ronaldo and whoever else was in that team wasn't a million times better than argentina??? Maradona was finished, players like caniggia or redondo were better off without him in the midfield.

yes, "Jogi" is Joachim's nickname. I would put up a translation, but the words used have connotations which would just not match in english... basically they are talking about general vacation things, since they surprisingly happen to be both in Brazil, using words in bold like "I am still UNDECIDED", "EVEN", "DRAWN", etc.
