I received a package last night; I don't know if it was the exact same mechanism as you strike, but I had to decide who I would want to investigate (it seems like you were TOLD that saussage was mafia, not that you investigated him? please clarify). I am considering telling it or not; as you will not necesairly believe the intel and I might put a target on that person by clearing him.

Mud Puppy thats my horse!

Ditto on SW... That leaves spiesr and Loot.

Pretty sure tag backs are OK... so, Loot, That's my horse.

HotShot53 wrote:Ah, that is too bad about our time controller being killed :( And just when we were starting to be able to rely on him to end the day when the right guy was horseless, too.

M'eh... I guessed The Clock was town but I'm not sure how much of a help he was to Town. By ending D3 early, Neb effectively wasted a lynch since the HF was on target to get Sausage. At first it seemed with so few deaths in the game that Neb was able to prevent some night kills by speeding up time... but we had a full N3 and only one death. So, it seems the vamps can't kill (only recruit... or used to only recruit). It's looking like there's only 1 somewhat weakened mafia faction, 1 greatly weakened vampire faction, and some 3P's. Does that sound about right or do you think we could still have a second mafia faction?

Anyway, back to my point: From a pure numbers perspective it hurts to lose Neb... but I don't think it is so bad from a PR perspective.

Why volunteer this information if you are planning to withhold this information? It seems more logical to hold onto the information in case this person is about to be lynched? With you being claimed Gov you would be able to prevent this? You seem to be looking for a group consensus before you decide?

I am also curious as why you would not believe this information as the point was made yesterday that sending false information would make no sense from an anti town stand point. If Town were to be conned this way it would have made sense for Strikes information to be fake not yours.

A)You don't get the point I m trying to make. This is the first time 2 players claim to have received a gift on the same night. I am also curious to know if strike really received the "saussage is mafia" intel directly or if he received an investigation. Same question to anark actually.
I would also like to know if someone else received a gift on night 1. I find it hard to believe that 2 players received a gift this time, only 1 the previous night.

B) never said i don t believe the information (although it could be a godfather or any other scenario, but unlikely). I said that if I reveal it people will not necessarily believe me, you need to read better my posts.

Betiko, my gift wasn't an investigation... so it is not comparable. It also shows there is more than one type of gift...

You really seem to be nosing around for info about a semi powerful role and I can't say that sits well with me.

as I said. 1 gift received on night 1, 2 gifts on night 2. I think I have the right to ask you how you explain this. Is there another gift receiver tha didn't talk during day 2? Do you see other explanations?

Are you uncomfortable with reveiling the nature of the gift we received, as all the claimed gift receivers did so far?

Well, WE didn't receive the gift... So, yes, I am... And I certainly have no interest in saying what my gift even was when you won't tell your result after being questioned... Again, you are fishing very hard for being semi-hypocritical.

As they are "gifts" and increasing in number each night... maybe it's some kind of santa clause role or something, and for each day of "Christmas" the number of gifts go up? That's one explanation I can think of... other options are there are 2 gift givers, and night one both got caught by the clock and didn't send out a gift, and night 2 one got caught again... or else the number of gifts vary for an unknown reason... or else someone received a gift and didn't mention it.

Without knowing the gifts, it's obviously hard to advise to reveal or not... probably a 50-50 chance if it will hurt or help town. Of course if you die while keeping it secret, then the knowledge dies with you, so there is always that risk.

Anarkistsdream wrote:Also... is jmac pulling a whatsausage? No rebuttal yet?

Looks like it so far... and with the short day he doesn't have much longer to come back and claim/rebut/whatever. It's a shame to lynch someone with only 3 votes on them ... this day has been horribly slow so far though, way too many people have not contributed anything...

last christmas PCM moded an official christmas game with gifters. There were afew of them, and if I remember well you needed to receive X amount of gifts to use a power. This time it looks like you get your power instantly.

My theories could be one of the following:
-anark bullshitted the fact that he received a gift last night
-on day 2, another player, other than strike, received a gift and didn't mention it publicly
-there are two gift givers. In order to give some sort of ballance; there is a good gift giver (the one strike had yesterday) and a bad/insane one that gives tainted results. I know this game is supposed to be unballanced, but 2 town gift givers... isn't that a bit too much?

Anark you are particularly defensive. I said that what I got is a classic investigation (town cop style). I want you to tell us what type of action you received; if you are lying you can come up late in the game inventing something very convenient that can be anything.

I would say it is worth discussion. We only had one known gift last night but tonight we have two. I think betiko said enough for that to be interesting. It is possible that Gifter #2 was just unable to put in his gift but I still find it worth discussion especially as so far Betiko's gift does not work the way mine did.

what do you think of my theory; if there are 2 gift givers, one might give tainted results? sounds too easy for us otherwise. We get 2 investigations per night (if mafia gets the investigation, who cares) and it can be basically anyone receiving it.... I don't really buy it. Could be the same person able to send 2 gifts per nights but that sounds kind of overpowered...

Ebwop: The specific result is unnecessary but what it was would be helpful.

You complain about him not revealing things while you refuse to tell us which townie you have theoretically cleared?

Um... There is no claimed gift from night 1. Night 2 has one and night 3 looks to have two.

Would it be in our interest to reveal townies that quickly? I admit that this is likely where we'll end up regardless but as of right now, I want to hear from Nark as well.

just to clarify, SW you did not have to pick someone to investigate and betiko did as far as the two gifts go? I think you acknowledged the difference here but just want to be sure I'm understanding correctly:

strike wolf wrote:I would say it is worth discussion. We only had one known gift last night but tonight we have two. I think betiko said enough for that to be interesting. It is possible that Gifter #2 was just unable to put in his gift but I still find it worth discussion especially as so far Betiko's gift does not work the way mine did.

Can we stop with the speculation on how many gifts have been given? I don't know what that adds to the gameplay right now as it seems like more a distraction. What is more important is the fact that two people have come forward today with gifts but seem to playing chicken. Betiko, you should have kept your mouth shut if you got an town investigation unless that player came under pressure.

Just ask SW: would you have offered the gift information yesterday if it was "sausage is town" I know I wouldn't have initially.

For the horse participants: Edoc suggested it and lootifer cooperated but the justification on who's horse your taking is telling as well.

FOS spiesr for taking SW without justification, the fact that SW correctly led us to the lynch of sausage yesterday and built a compelling case against Jmac today, why are you taking his horse?
