@ Zorn Slayer...have you played Doctor Spin yourself?...if not then why is this a BIG deal to you? Potty mouth is NOT precluded from this site and unfortuntely nor are people who spend their time trolling for a reason to be outraged...same with the ratings issue---if you weren't there you know stuff all about it...play the game and if it really affects YOU in a game you are in then arc up about it...otherwise let those affected complain/whinge/whine on their own behalfs...why did I bother posting this you might ask if it doesn't directly affect me? Because individual games are between those involved, but when we have do-gooders trolling the site with their mission in life being to create witch trials based on increasingly politically-(in?)correct mob rule, then it affects ALL players who come here for war, gore and abhore, winner take all, and leave it on the field of blood afterwards...

Yes, I have played Doctor Spin, Patrick. As a woman I find his slurs bigoted and derisive, and I see he makes a habit of it with many many othes. it's not just the language, it's the systematic accusations of cheating, ratings trashings, and the fact that a good many players responded to his ratings trashings and they are clearly unjustified. Had you looked into the links at all, Patrick, you would have known this before flaming off. I sincerely hope you are not one of the official moderators on this forum. Most players here are amazingly polite, capable and cultured.

Zorn...sure I looked into the links and sure he's a foul mouth but the fact remains he han't broken any rules on this site...I did go thru (some) of the links posted and also went into Gamefinder but could find NO games youtwo had been in together so notflaming just posting o what I could see...
"As a woman..." does NOT cut it on the web-thingey for two main reasons...firstly, self-proclamation does not gaurantee authenticity AND more importantly the web cuts two ways: your views are as valid as anyone else's but the "alleged" fact you are a woman gives no more weight to your umbrage than if you had stated "as a left-hander"...things are either right or wrong and degrees of political-correctness based on perceived discriminated against status have no extra clout.
Don't get me wrong, I have three daughters and admire their tenacity and fighting spirit but have brought them up to see those as human traits not ones that require the qualifier "as a woman" to make them valid...just don't play the bad doctor, foe him if necessary...

Jefjef is correct, there is a pattern of Ratings Abuse. He is warned for that.

As for the language, we take a liberal stance at the moment towards language. Unless it clearly crosses a bigoted or homophobic line, it is usually a FAMO.

The whole thing is pretty amusing. Thanks for the general support regarding abusive language. My use of bad language is mainly tongue in cheek - and, as long as words are not racist or homophobic etc, words are JUST WORDS. Thanks guys for pointing this out to the "offended" party!! LOL
In terms of ratings abuse, I accept the warning, but do not accept the charge. I do not rate someone poorly unless I believe it warrants it. The fact is that I admit I tend to post bad ratings rather than good ratings (though not exclusively). This perhaps gives the impression that I conduct ratings abuse - as it gives a skewed picture of my games. Having playede more than 11,000 games and been on the receiving end of ACTUAL ratings abuse, I do not hold much worth to the ratings system. But I do not complain about the ratings abuse I receive - as it would be a completely pointless exercise. I just FOE people that I do not wish to play with. And, when I feel they deserve a poor rating I provide one.
Either way, whatever. Happy to play with the good guys, not so happy to play with the many, many trolls, idiots and pseudo-offended do-gooders. As mentioned in my profile, if you don't have a sense of humour, don't play me. I like a good rant at the (ridiculous and non-random) dice - so get over it! And I really, really dislike the large amount of secret displomacy that goes on (which apparently the mods can do nothing about).

Ok machone. Why not, if indeed that's what you do? Are you immune to warnings in your lofty position of volunteer mod? Why do you treat AoG's suggestion with such amusement? Seriously, why shouldn't you be warned for ratings abuse if you rate everyone highly? It's no different to what I did.
