Also, why didn't Tyrese use his gun when the guys were getting killed by the zombies? Like, the gun is for important scenarios only, right? I feel like saving their lives is pretty damn important.

GUYS c'mon
Andrea & Michonne Season 3 ep 1, Andrea is all sick yet jokes about how she saved Michonne all winter.
The breaks between seasons are supposed to be somewhat representative of winter. Or at least the break between season 2 and 3 was. The nerds on the Walking Dead Forums confirm it, despite the messed-up pacing. I just kinda assumed we were all on the same page here. But the prisoners in that same episode said that they had been locked up for about 10 months, so we're probably only about 1 1/2 years into the Apocalypse.

I don't know how good Tyreese's aim is but unless you're really confident about your ability to shoot, shooting into a crowd like that when they're all moving would not be easy. He'd be just as likely to hit the people in the crowd as the zombies. Even if he did hit the zombies in the head, they are mostly rotting flesh at that point and a bullet could have passed through one of them and hit one of the people. My bigger concern was the lack of mercy killing before they became zombies.

I don't disagree. I even pointed out another's disagreement as confusing season breaks with mid season breaks. In terms of the prison, I wonder how accurate the estimates the prisoners brought forward were. How had they been keeping time for one thing? As I said, break between season 1 and 2, was not winter. It was probably only a couple weeks if that. Season 2 and 3 was definitively winter and it's possible that the break between 3 and 4 was as well.

Little Lizzy is turning into a pure psychopath. Carl is going to have to end up putting her down eventually. She is playing the part of Ben in from the comic series it appears. She's nuts about the zombies, little clues have been given so far, especially in this last episode.
Old Ben (from the comic series) didn't every really understand the zombies. He ended up murdering his own brother and not thinking it was something bad to do because his brother would come back (like just about everyone else who dies ends up coming back).
The little community of survivors didn't know what to do about Ben, because he was just a kid. In the middle of the night Carl goes ahead and executes Ben and explaining that it had to be done because Ben was a psychopath and would just end up killing some one else eventually. Since Carl and Ben were the same age, Carl took it upon himself to do the deed so none of the adults would feel the guilt of having to execute a child.
Now our Lizzy from the TV series likes to name the zombies. She got upset that someone had killed her favorite zombie (didn't she call that zombie "Ben"? I can't remember).
Lizzy scolds her little sister saying that the little sister doesn't understand zombies. Little sister responds that it's Lizzy who doesn't understand the zombies, that the zombies are really monsters and that Lizzy doesn't understand that (implied).
Lizzy also stabbed that little rabbit to death, the rabbit that somehow the tracker Daryl didn't notice in the tree trunk.
Lizzy was also feeding the zombies back at the prison, further illustrating just how out of touch with reality she is about the nature of zombies.
Then Lizzy damn near smothered the little baby to death and would have if not for Carol happening along. Lizzy was so engrossed with killing that baby that she just ignored her little sister's warning that there were zombies coming, to the point of even ignoring that her little sister was shooting (unsuccessfully) at the zombies.
Yeah, Lizzy is a nut case. She's going to be a problem later.
The Abraham fellow is also in the comic series. The two people with him are Eugene who will claim he's a scientist with the government (which probably turns out to be a lie) and the hot chick is Rosita.
The stuff with Lizzy probably won't go down till next season, but it was shortly after Rick and company run into Abraham Ford when Ben goes completely nuts and murders his own brother. I figure Lizzy is going to keep on getting more and more unstable and it'll cause some serious problems along with some highly emotional subjects like what to do with child murderers.
Or Lizzy will just end up getting bitten and turned when her pet zombie bites her while she feeds it rats.
Old Abraham Ford is going to be a little mentally unstable as well. He and Rick are going to rub each other wrong for a while. Abraham's back story is going to be fairly horrific, so it's no wonder he's not really emotionally stable. He's not crazy, just all busted up emotionally though he tries to put on a brave charade. He's a decent chap and he's banging Rosita.
Eugene is a particularly strange individual, y'all will figure him out, just watch for the clues about him in the next season.
I'm not sure if Abraham, Rosita and Eugene will be in any more episodes this season, but they'll be in next season plenty if the audience doesn't hate them as much as they did Andrea. Hahaha!
But little Lizzy is going to be the real shocker I think. It doesn't bode well for her little sister Mika.

Guy: Sounds good. Let's do this.
So pacing was faster than the last few episodes but the lack of realism rivaled quicksand roof.

Damn, Beth is starting to look fine and is turning into a PARTY GIRL! "I need a drink Daryl! Make me a mojito!" and "Let's burn down this house! Woooo!" I still can't believe Carl didn't hit that.
(Also, Daryl is a super lightweight.)

The ep was way too sappy, but I guess it was necessary for Darryl's character development.
I can't tell if I'm very sexist or if the writers so pathetically write the female parts. Beth just comes off as annoying.

From what I've seen it's the latter.

Beth isn't annoying, she's a liability. She better give it up pretty soon to get that emotional attachment, otherwise it seems like Daryl thinks about just leaving her behind sometimes. I thought that's where they were going with the 'I need a drink right now' angle, like she was planning out having her cherry popped, and then maybe he would start to give a shit about her.
Re: AMC: The Walking Dead (Season 3:SPOILER ALERTS!))
This is a terrible show now. I have no idea why I keep watching it.
I too was waiting for Daryl and Beth to get it on. @Phatscotty, I don't really think she's a virgin though. She has had a couple of boyfriends already, so it's likely she's already done it.
Also, for it being her first time drinking, she handled that moonshine like a champ. Barely even made a face when drinking it. That stuff burns like hell going down.

Yeah, that was stupid. If it was any realistic she would spend five minutes making weird faces trying to drown out the taste with he own mucus.

She's been taking acting lessons from the children of the corn tho - that smile after she said they should burn it down freaked me out slightly

I enjoy introspective episodes more than most, but this one was not good. Daryl and Beth are not introspective-type characters. Maybe we're spoiled by the strong acting from the actors who play Rick and the Governor.

Daryl may have been but they chose to go with the background story we already knew. I feel like they've heard people complaining about Beth being such a minor character and are trying to develop her but the problem is you dress up a minor character and she's still a minor character. If you want to make her actually more important, you have her do something more important.

I would like them to play out the idea that the younger folks (e.g. Carl/Beth) are borderline sociopathic due to their childhood experiences with zombies. This episode turned away from that for Beth (although I suppose wanting to have a drink in the post-apocalypse is sociopathic).

Even Carl isn't as sociopathic as he was season 2 or 3. They seem to be replacing that idea with Ms. Smothers Babies.

Re: AMC: The Walking Dead (Season 3:SPOILER ALERTS!))
Liitle Lizzy is the sociopath of the show. It's not like there haven't been enough clues to figure it out.
I don't know, that seems pretty rational to me. f*ck it, you' re pretty much dead already, might as well have a little enjoyment before facing the next horror that's sure to come. It's more stoic than sociopathic, IMO.
I wouldn't blame anyone for that.

You think she has had a chance to give it up with god fearing Herschel having been lurking around every corner with his watchful eye? She's a virgin, she's never had a drink for chrissake pity Daryl doesn't appear to have a horny bone in him.

Yeah, maybe so. It was a big prison though. Plus Maggie had already had sex when the group met up with Herschel and family, so I don't know that Herschel could stop it happening. Well, either she had already had sex, or she decided to lose her virginity to a skinny Asian man she had just met.
I don't know, I could see it going either way. How old is she supposed to be, anyway? Has that ever been revealed?
I agree about Daryl though, he seems to have no interest at all. He'd rather force her to learn to use a crossbow while manhandling her. What a fun drunk he is.

I think in the show she maybe just turned 18 if not younger. Perhaps the show is just trying to avoid the "She's under age!" hate mail.

Maggie and Glenn are like a fucking high school couple and its getting really annoying.
Also, I'm done with Beth. If they want to develop a female character, let them develop Sasha.
