Firstly I think it is a beautiful map Qwert and i look forward to playing it.
I went to the Foundry and read some, certainly not all of the thread,.. it's a pretty large document.

I have to say, as a completely impartial observer, KYOGI seems to have been trying to help you make the map better. He appeared encouraging and not unreasonable in the parts i read.

I may have this wrong but sometimes when we create something, it becomes a reflection of ourselves and any criticism becomes an affront on our character. It's one of the quirks of a perfectionist and likely why you could make such a great map.

I think if you could sit back for a moment you would see that the adjustments are fairly reasonable.
Get em done mate so we can all play the map!

Dancing Mustard, if you read all then you must know that i have logical explanation of all these sugestion. Changing colours of all terittory its not minor thing.

Seriously Qwert, the changes asked are completely minor; just get them done so we can get this thing quenched. It doesn't matter what we say here, Andy and Keyogi just aren't going to rubber-stamp this map until you swallow your pride.

You think its minor, go to Map foundry-EAstern front topic, look page 1. I just want to put a large part of member to se these map, in Map foundry its very small number of member participiated in making map.

The changes are all minor little tweaks here and there that you refuse to do because "it's my map and I won't do them if I don't want to"...

At the moment you're in the "It's my ball and if I can't be captain I'll take it home and no-one can play" camp.

I must say that you dont right, every Major changes i work with people, and for all my changes i ask a lot of people, because every litle change must like everybody, you can not pleased a small group of people, but if a large part of members pleased then job is finish.

It's a great map ready to be played as it is today.

As far as changes, well, no change is necessary for the map to be a great one. Just compare to the Siege map that recently was released - that map is horrible from a playability point of view. This Eastern front map is way better and way more playable that the Siege one.

My two cents are these: If the creator of a map believes that changes shouldn't be made, that's his call. From the foundry foremens' point of view, they have two options: either to go ahead with the map or refuse to release it.

Here - there's no excuse not to release it. The map is good. Looks playable. And is way better than many other maps out there. Foundry foremen have no business going too far, demanding changes that aren't
that necessary. When it comes to taste, well, one should give some margin of appreciation to the creator of the map instead of sitting on one's own arse pushing through one's own, subjective ideas. But that's just me.

I disagree - I really enjoyed my time on siege thus far. But, I am more looking forward to Eastern Front. However, why not just make the changes (they would improve it) and then it would be quenched pretty soon I think

I very rarely agree with anything alstergren has ever said, but I endorse his comments here. The criticisms of the map are petty in my opinion and I would side with the creative sensibilities of the author over the nattering negativity the map has received from the foundry. The map should be accepted as is and the nonsense should stop. What an unpleasant death by a thousand cuts it must be to submit a map to the foundry and watch the critics pounce. If the critics feel so strongly they should start work on their own maps. Precious little of enduring value was ever produced by a committee. I sympathize with the author's frustration.

Here's my 2c

By and large the Maps on CC are are of a very high quality when compared to the Maps on some of the other risk sites, This must in part be down to the Map foundries exacting standards. These standards must not be allowed to be lowered simply because a small part of the community want to see a new Map in play.

I personally have no problem with your Map but if it's not good enough for the foundry then I'm afraid it's not good enough for me. standards have to be maintained at all costs.

Podge you put excelent question-Map making standard.I dont know standard of map making, you have only steps how to make map.Standard is imposible to make because you have diferent maps, and you know what standard mean(Every things is same,like dimension for every map).
I must say that a very large part of community want to see my map in play. I hope you satisfy with my answer to yours question podge.

I like the map, why do you insist on trashing it? If you don't like it, give it a break, this thread is for the non map-geeks to express their opinions!

I have no problem with qwerts map, looks good to go to me. What I do have a problem is qwert acting like an insufferable man-child spreading his tear stained dirty diapers all over CC. The original eastern front thread already had a poll saying thats 60-70% of people wanted it quenched, so what is the point of this thread then? Qwert is just fishing for people ignorant of his antics to support his map, which already has support from a majority. The problem is, Qwert has turned up his whine-o-tron to max-stubborn, which as prevented the map from being in play, meanwhile, half a dozen maps have been started and quenched in this time.

I think the map looks ready to play!

However, I don't know what the map foundry guys have to say... and if someone is in authority, then they know what needs to be done before its ready.

As far as color, I think its fine.
and with the borders.
I think they are very simple.

More maps have had some hard to tell borders than this map.
