Hmm...I could have sworn he hadn't and I really was paying close attention to the episode...maybe it happened that one time I got up to get a drink...

Still...if he told Daryl and and Daryl didn't flip out...what was the point of delaying it to begin with (And making a point of delaying it with the whole "Go ask Herschel" "Go ask Rick" "talk to him now?" "No...soon...soon"?) I honestly see no reason other than the writers decided "Let's let them all speculate what Daryl will do when he finds out while we go off for two episodes to talk about the Governor. *Troll face*"

She was 16 in Season 2.

I don't think that's going to happen. . .

I think that all of us have accepted the fact that this show has less-than-perfect writing. It's really odd to see so many different people all agree on that, especially for a popular show. I do not know if the poorer and obvious story structure is because of the writing team, producers, or a combination. But there have been too many times when the show just got mucked up by something implausible. I understand that several important people have been replaced as the show has continued on, and that the show's budget has been reduced at least once. Maybe that has had negative effects on the storyline too, I don't know. But hey, zombies.

I have a theory (which is not original to me) that shows have a story going in and they revise the story as things change. For example, Lost was probably a story about purgatory until the creators realized they could parlay six seasons out of it. That's my theory about Walking Dead. They can keep recycling stories and themes endlessly because people keep watching (because hey zombies). Contrast with Breaking Bad which was completely written already. Or the Wire which had the same characters but different stories (each story contained in one season). Or, to be honest, Game of Thrones (which won't deviate from the books too much, but then you get Martin trying to drag it on... but I digress).

I thoroughly enjoyed the last episode, but most specifically the governor/Rick scene. That was possibly the best non-zombie scene of the show. You didn't get the same thing in the comics (which I do read).

My only problem with the Rick/Governor thing was. Why did Rick tackle him instead of shooting him? I could see him shooting all the bullets that were in the gun (I didn't count) but did he not have any extras on him, in case he had to reload? Seems a bit reckless in a zombie apocalypse but maybe he had gotten a little careless with the protection that the prison provided.

perhaps that is a result of what was alluded to earlier in the season, Rick not carrying his gun with him (when the council recommend he do when he met that 'please help me' dirty crazy chik) and he was probably also slippin as far as not carrying extra bullets with him.

I checked it off to rage.
He had his Colt Python on him, because he was shooting it while he ran to the overturned bus. He was shot in the leg, took cover, and everyone forgot about him in the firefight, just like they forgot Michionne. He appeared to be waiting for the Governor, because he let all of the other attackers pass the bus. Then just as soon as the governor passed, Rick tackled him. Rick could have done a lot more damage shooting the governor and the other attackers in the back. Maybe he was out of ammo, but I didn't see any cues to make me believe that. I think he just hated him that much for everything he did.
This part of the story didn't bother me, but I really don't think it's the choice many people would have made. Rick could have ended the attack.

Rick really needs to stop babying Carl. I know this episode was supposed to show that Carl isn't ready to go out on his own but what it really showed was that he wasn't ready to go out on his own because they have denied him opportunities to learn to use weapons other than guns to defend himself and even that's been limited. The little girls need to know how to use guns because they aren't tall enough to get a reliable head shot on a full grown zombie with a melee weapon, Carl is tall enough.

Just watched.

(1) Carl is a psychopath (understandably I suppose - he killed his mother).
(2) There are a lot of disturbing scenes from this show, but everytime I think about Carl's mom dying, it disturbs the shit out of me.
(3) Why are there always 500 zombies in the fucking forest? Wouldn't they all congregate in an urban area?
(4) I probably have low standards when it comes to TV shows since I don't watch a lot of the "prestige" TV shows (e.g. I never watched Seinfeld, Downton Abbey, Modern Family, Six Feet Under, or Mad Men and I don't think Breaking Bad is that awesome (premise is fantastic, episodes are okay)). I like shows that entertain me. The Walking Dead always entertains me and screw the critics.
(5) When does the food run out? Is it a question of "hey, zombies don't eat Honey Nut Cheerios or drink Snapple" so there's lots of it?
(6) Why doesn't anyone else go with the Michonne tactic of two zombies, no arms, no mouths? And where does Michonne keep her whetsone to sharpen the sword?

That's what I thought when Carl opened the door in that house and the zombie was just waiting at the door. How long has he been in there? A year plus? Can zombies generate their own energy? If so, why hasn't the government created self-sustaining zombies yet?

I think there was something said earlier that Zombies can "die" of starvation it just takes a lot longer (months or longer) than it would for a living human. As far as not eating cheerios or anything like that. I just always assumed that one of the side effects of the virus is that it made them extra hungry for flesh and got rid of any desire for non-flesh.

The season breaks are supposed to represent winter, aye? So that's three years and the zombies are still just as dangerous. I wouldn't count on them dying out.
We've covered a lot of secondary problems that come with apocalypse with nomadic bandits and disease, but I'd like to see other problems too like packs of dogs and abandoned traps and stuff. The last episode was a huge step in the right direction though. Way to go.

Can't have been a winter break - the prison was still burning and Rick was still badly beat up at the start of that episode

I think maybe he means like between seasons like Season 1 to season 2. Though that seems unlikely to be the case there because they had made very little progress from Atlanta at that point. Now between Season 2 and Season 3 they clearly said they skipped winter and they did mention it had been about 3 months or so since the Governor's attack at the beginning of Season 4.

Isn't this taking place in Georgia? I don't think we'd see a lot of snow in winter there in any event.

So umm...how did Glenn get left at the prison? I could have sworn I saw him get in the bus before the mid season finale.

I'm assuming he got out (off screen) to help Maggie....that's why Maggie thought he was on da bus. They might explain it later when Glenn eventually reaches Maggie.

Anyway, I kind of like how this started. All the characters are kind of mashed up with people who they never interact with (Glenn with that one girl? Maggie, Sasha and the drunk? Tyrese and the kids?).

Apparently zombies are more interested in burning cars than food.

The zombies seem to react to basic stimulus. They're like that super ADD kid who hasn't taken their medicine and can't focus in class.

I guess, I just remember Glenn still being so sick he could barely stand. It seems like even if he did want to get off the bus, he could have easily been over powered by anyone who had a mind to stop him.

So lemme get this straight, Glen got off the bus to help Maggie, but then decided to lay down and take a nap on the catwalk?

Also, that is the biggest, fattest baby I ever did see. I'm surprised the baby wasn't carrying Tyreese instead of the other way around. Since they lost the Hyundai, they should all just ride the baby to the next camp.

How is it Rick and Carl immediately were able to walk into a town and start feasting on chocolate pudding, while everyone else is homeless and scavenging in Carol's forest kingdom? Speaking of Carol - she was creepin' around the prison like someone who graduates high school but still hangs out by the fence next to the baseball field the whole time? Her return was a surprise. And as for returning characters - where has tkr4lf been?
