I just realised CC would be on my mind for most days that week.. I need help for this addiction.

i'm only going to wales and as far as i know they only have sheep and of course pot noodle mines

there is like 10 of us going and i might get some grief off those guys if i start nipping into every internet cafe the first chance i get.
another option is sneaking off in the wee hours of the morning to get my fix but then my missus will deffo up and leave with my daughter if i do that.

plus sneaking out to play this game is a sure sign of addiction possibly some mental problem too

Ok, so as my husband proceeded to point out the already known, I am a conquer club addict. Yes, I get on first thing in the morning with my cup o' java to take my turns, try to slide in midday inbetween my classes for the pick me up and then return after the kiddies are in bed to RULE THE WORLD!! There is something very gratifying about winning this game, the high it brings. Maybe I'm just a freak. but oh well.

So anyone else out there wanting to admit or become a member, please leave me a post and I will start a running list.

I don't know if I am an addict, I have a few freinds that I know that I talked into playing, so I enjoy being able to communicate with them online when we are so far away. But isn't that part of the addiction? The relationship involved with others that are experiencing the same highs as you?

I mean, yes, I start to shake when I don't have a computer to make a crucial play; and yes, I turn on CC as soon as I wake up and fight for the computer at work and stay on CC for hours in the evening (sometimes just staring at the screen even though my turn isn't up yet...just staring, for hours and hours )

Let's not forget these forums! I think I'm in it mostly for the forums...do you know what I mean?

On the weekends, I don't shave, shower, or brush my teeth...I just sit in front of the CC website and stare at it. I think the house is on fire...aww! I might be up soon...COME ON Jiminski! Take your turn already! The fire will put itself out I think...

So, No...I am not an addict.

Hi my name is Jeffrey and I am a CC addict.

I have recently weaned myself down to speed games, which do not cause the urgency to constantly check my CC account. Problem is, my wife often uses the computer for work in mid-game, so I have lost a lot of turns and subsequently my footing in several games. I have found that late night speed games when the family is asleep are useful.

If this saves one marriage, I have done my job.

I remember this thread............and yes, I am an addict too...before I found CC, I used to play Risk on the board by myself....using all six armies.....alot.........ahem.....so much that the leg of my chair where I sat eventually wore a hole in the linoleum of the kitchen floor, and I had to take a sharp acco knife and cut out the section that was holed...so now everytime I walk into the kitchen I see that neat little 6" x 6" hole in the tile, and smile......cuz now I'm much better eh....................well...ah......oh alright.....but I could quit anytime I wanted! Really....

Oh that's so very true. For the last 6 years I have spent the first hour of the day on CC, no matter if I have work, or a wedding (!), or a plane to catch. In fact I get up far earlier than one would need to for morning work as I must have at least 30 minutes on CC with a coffee before I move. That this morning I have just got up, made my coffee, sat down with CC and seen this thread and your comment is delicious.

Conquer Club is of course and addiction, if one that is possible to be addicted to in a 'functioning addict' sort of way. I do wonder about those players who have played tens of thousands of games. Do they work? Do they have a girlfriend or a wife? It is hard to believe that one can be playing +100 active games here for more than a couple of months without seriously disturbing one's personal circumstances.

I think my worst 'CC Addict' moment, at least recently, was checking a game on CC during sex. No doubt I was wondering if my man had played his turn or some such thing. I justified it on the basis that my lady and I were somewhat 'between sets', or having a 'half-time break' but I have to tell you that girlfriend's facial expression reflected a new understanding of the level of my addiction. Of course to me (and no doubt many people reading this) it would make absolute sense to check CC when it MUST be checked...perfectly reasonable.
