Took a look at some of the original Pokemon games for gameboy color and advance the other day, $300-$400 for a new one. Samething with games like Super Smash Bros. for the N64.
"Eh, whatever."

Don't Starve is one of the best games I've played. Sunk about 20+ hours into it, at day 180 or so, and then got tired of it/have much more important things to do.

If you like FTL*, you'll like Don't Starve. Don't spoil it by reading the wiki page; just play and see what happens. It's more fun to experiment! (and die often).

You all have convinced me, plus another friend who also recommended Don't Starve. I'll keep an eye out for a Steam deal.

Nice, I keep getting overconfident and trying risky things. I had a chain of bad luck an died on day 68 with a double respawn :x

Did you figure out how to "Beat" the level?

Well... if you get those Things and put them together, then you can 'advance' with whatever you can carry. I wasn't ready for that.

I really liked Maxwell's 5-series adventure. All sorts of even more difficult environments there; raining frogs was probably the worst one.

I still really want to play it, but I know 30 minutes will turn into 4 hours. It's a dangerously good game.

QFT that 30 mins always turns into 4 hours hahahaha.

Yeah Maxwells thing is a lot of fun, but again, I try to rush it. I got a Winter only one, made it all the way to the end but got killed mid ending that chapter. Gr.

As long as you're patient and cautious, you can get a decent base with good enough supply of food within 15-30 days and a resurrection soon after.

With the 180+ game, I got tired of restocking on various items which I couldn't produce at home. Having no markets is costly.

You've always been good at jokes BBS, haha, this one was a little bit better than most though, didn't think you had enough self-distance to make fun of yourself in this way. I tip my hat :).

The first time is the hardest BBS, but it will get easier, personally I'm just glad I could witness this important moment in your life. Cheers, I buy the drinks tonight.

Well, ever since the Mindcrackers (very famous group of Minecraft lets players) started to play Pixelmon (Pokemon mod for minecraft), it peeked my interest at getting back into it a little with Crystal and Emerald. BTW, I had originally stopped doing ANYTHING with Pokemon a little while after Crystal came out, over 10 years ago. Finding out there are now over 500 Pokemon, a shit ton of games, and Misty and Brock now only appear in cameos, the Pokemon I once knew is no more.

Banished

It you wanted to buy Sim City, but were discouraged by the $50.00 tag or the always online (for now) component, or the small map size? Check out Banished. Different take on everything, but I've been watching some Lets Plays and looks pretty fun and zenlike. Quill18 had a bunch of pre-release lets plays up: http://www.youtube.com/user/quill18/videos

The game just came out today -- $19.99 on Steam. Or you can purchase directly from the developer and get a DRM-free copy + a Steam Key, which is what I did: http://www.shiningrocksoftware.com/game/

I'm digging it.

Both the Witcher 1/2 are on sale on steam (80% off?) highly recommended games for RPG'ers in general. I have no idea how long the sale is going for. Still preoccupied with Borderlands 2 right now :)

I really liked Witcher 1 and 2...

Played Max Payne over the weekend. Dated, but was a lot of fun. I own 2 and 3 and will definitely be giving them a play sometime in the not-too-distant future.

Playing Batman Arkham City now...it seems pretty good.

I'm on and off with Skyrim...finished all the main quests of the core game and the DLCs. While there are a lot of mods out there, there don't seem to be many good quest mods. I think that's what kept me playing Oblivion so long...some of the quest mods for Oblivion are amazing and HUGE!

Anyone here planning to play The Elder Scrolls Online? The price is a little steep for my budget...
