Re: Football (real)
Debate about goalkeepers is tough, as they rely on the 10 men in front of them to help them keep goals out. Here's a question on the theme of keepers and the back row... who's got the best defence in the premier league?
Of course, I'd like to say Arsenal, as we have conceded the fewest goals and kept the most clean sheets. I'd say we undeniably have the most improved defence this season, as this area has been a real problem in the trophy-less years.

For the keeper, Lloris and Cesch are a million times better than howard. If the defense screws up a lot you can t remove kudos to the keeper and give too many to a keeper greatly protected. This is just a team done by an everton fan...
What about Krul, his performance against Spurs when we won 1=0 was as good as it gets?
Re: Football (real)
Everton has the best defense. Arsenal have the best midfield and City have the best attack.
Spurs don't have the best goalkeeper... either do Newcastle.
Man utd have the worst defense and midfield of all the top 10 teams.

i don't follow the premier league enough so i'll trust you on this. but howard isn't better than Lloris, that's for sure. Krul, I don't know him well enough.
I've followed lloris since his first years playing for Nice, and he's always been an outstanding keeper.

RIP Eusébio

Re: Football (real)
yep... unfortunately I never got the chance to see anything from him... just know he was one of the greatest. In portugal he is more than a football player, there is a big political aspect to it right?

The first truly great African footballer, brilliant at the 1966 World Cup,scored the first goal conceded in the tournament by the outstanding English defence in their semi-final.Brings back so many happy childhood memories..RIP.

I'd like to have Hazard there.
Best keeper in the Premiership - Asmir Begovic.
Coleman has been the best right back this season, though Ivanovic + Zabaleta would have been strong contenders on previous form.
Not sure why Gerrard and Carrick are in the team,
The team also needs more Belgians - Vertoghnen and Kompany in the centre and Hazard for Carrick.
Ozil for Gerrard as well.

Re: Football (real)
Also, Walcott is out for the season - 6 months for his cruciate ligament and is more crucially out of the World Cup. That really sucks as he is one of England's best three players.

I'd say the best attacking player... he is the only one who has something different. Now I really can't see them getting out of the group but we'll see what Italy turn up. For sure England are going to be a boring defensive team.

Huge blow for Arsenal and England. ACL injuries are the worst. He should bounce back in time for next season though.

Frustrating.. Not like we don't have other talent, they're just not shining. England I mean, not Arsenal.

He's decent, got a good strike on him. More experience and he'll be a quality player but I doubt he'll ever be outstanding.

Bah, the juve kicked roma s ass 3-0 this week end, pretty disapointing.
I still think the juve is on the very top of the european football and still can t understand how the hell they got kicked out of the champion s league. My personal favorite to win the europa league now, since the final will be played in Turin.

Bookies favorite as well, funny considering how bad Italian football is they have 3 of the top 5 favorites in the Europa league. Swansea @ 33/1 are nice odds, if they can get past Napoli they have a serious chance imo. With the second leg in Italy though I would be surprised. Basel @ 25/1 is another interesting one. Also Ajax @ 25/1 could do some damage.

This whole thing about the italian football bad is bs. The juve would kick any english team s ass this season. Arsenal is top of the english league and napoli didn t make it by the smallest margin you can imagine in a battle of 3.
Swansea beating napoli, how??
Europa league winner this season is definitely italian.

Napoli were bought by some billionaire or something right?
It's a shame about Milan. Astonished at their league position. Always liked them.

I thought not. Just wikied him, he is a film producer, nephew of another film producer and cousin of an actress/chef (that became american). He must be rich but not billionaire rich.
It s napoli you know, don t ask where the money is coming from!
Although i m saying this but the whole story is pretty legit... It s got the best supporters in italy with a 60k stadium always full, all the stars that they have/had were unkonwn guys when they bought them, and they sold them very expensively ( lavezzi + cavani alone were sold for a total of 92M€). With all that money no wonder they could reinvest in higuain, callejon ect.

As a league that used to be considered the strongest in Europe being the 4th or 5th best is considered bad. Only 4 teams left in Europe, England have 6 (4 in the CL), Spain has 6 (3 in the CL) and Germany has 5 (4 in the CL).
Swansea are a good club and have one of the best managers in the PL, they do have injuries this season which hasn't helped but they have a chance against Napoli... plus historically English teams have performed well against Italian team.
