It's a home-team kind of weekend, I guess.

I'm not sure how I missed the Monday night game, but oh well...

7-8 on the week. 119-86-1 overall.

This week's picks:

Ravens@Bengals
Browns@Steelers
Panthers@Falcons
Lions@Vikings
Texans@Titans
Jags@Colts
Jets@Dolphins
Redskins@Giants
Bills@Patriots
Packers@Bears - Classic rivalry, and essentially the first playoff game for these teams. Rodgers is back, but Matthews is out. Go Pack!
Broncos@Raiders
Chiefs@Chargers
Buccs@Saints
49ers@Cardinals
Rams@Seahawks
Eagles@Cowboys - Another divisional rivalry that is essentially the first round of the playoffs.

Definitely shaping up to be a great end to the regular season. Lots of great match ups, with a lot still on the table. Every team that still has a chance at the playoffs still has something to play for, so we're not likely to see many starters on the bench. I almost wish my fantasy league was still going, even though I won it last week (toot toot).

I didn't get home in time to flip my pick,
but with the Eagles up 7 at the half...
I'm all in for the Cowboys to win.

Haha indeed!

I nearly had a few heart attacks (and did get in an automobile accident) during that game.

So I'm not sure if Romo is cursed or if just the position of QB on the Cowboys is cursed.

DIVISIONAL ROUND
Chiefs @ Colts - Was never sold on the Chiefs from the beginning who are 0-5 against playoff teams. Luck's the best player on the field and it'll be shown.
Saints @ Eagles - Offenses are about equal but I'd take the Saints' D over the Eagles'.

Chargers @ Bengals - Bengals have a competent defense, Chargers have a piece of shit QB
Niners @ Packers - Niners just have a better team. Packers will need a big day from Lacy.

Chiefs@Colts ... Im with AoG, Luck will step up and take the win
Saints@Eagles ... Saints either will win easily or get smashed, they seem to have been pretty volatile recently

Chargers@Bengals ... Chargers are good, but not great, theyd need to be great to beat the Bengals at home
49ers@Packers ... Niners will probably win, but I like Rodgers and dont want the exact same picks as AoG

TV blackouts threaten three of four NFL playoff games, and we're supposed to believe the economy is rebounding? I know there are other reasons, but playoff football was thought to be untouchable.

Re: NFL PICKS: Playoffs

I'm thinking the home field mostly prevails. Saints haven't been a good road team and as much as I'd like to see the Chiefs go deep in the playoffs, they have not finished the season strong. The Packers are 6-2 with Rodgers (2-5-1 without) and they wouldn't be hosting a game on Sunday without a Bears gift last Sunday. The Bengals may be the only team I've picked this weekend that I'll actually be pulling for.

Wild Cards
Saturday
Chiefs (11-5) @ Colts (11-5) much better Indy team than last year
Saints (11-5) @ Eagles (10-6) Philly's been really good with Foles at QB
Sunday
Chargers (9-7) @ Bengals (11-6) Cincy is good at home, if they can just hold onto the ball
Niners (12-4) @ Packers (8-7-1) GB's defense is banged up, but Rodgers may get it done

Quarterback play and turnovers will be the big factors again. It seems the long shots have reached the Super Bowl a lot in recent years. Ravens were far from a favorite last year and the 2011 Giants overachieved as well.

The only defensive player out right now is Matthews. Granted, he's their best defensive player, but the D is in better shape than it has been all season. And with Rodgers and Cobb back in the game, I'm hopeful.

Then again, the 9ers have been tough for the Pack, the last few meetings.

With a healthy Aaron Rodgers the Packers always have a chance.

I don't think it's the economy my man.

Note: Philadelphia is the only team to sell out. Every game in Philadelphia is sold out. So much for those wondrous Green Bay fans. /bitter Philly fan

Wild Card Predictions

Colts over Chiefs - I think the Colts are peaking and the Chiefs aren't.
Saints over Eagles - It's one thing to beat the Bears, Lions, and Cowboys. It's another thing to beat one of the top 3 or 4 QBs in the league. Weather doesn't play a factor.
Bengals over Chargers - I think this will be a blow-out.
Green Bay over San Francisco - I'm very much looking forward to this game because I think it will be close.

No one wants to go to the games because they're overpriced and people can have a better experience at home.

I don't think so. These stadiums don't see 2 million people.
