I've been playing REUS and Papers, Please.

I'd recommend them both. Very different games from one another. Papers, Please seems like the kind of game that would fit right into types enjoyed by our Off Topic denizens.

Also, the new Tomb Raider (haven't played it) is 80%, get it for $10 down from $50.00.

Europa Universalis 4 is also 50% at $20.00.

Graphic update of the Age of Empires 2, "HD Edition" is $5.00, or $7.50 if you want the "forgotten" update, which was a mod so good that the studio hired the modders to make it new-ish content.

Been going back to Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires. I know, people either love the series or hate it, but sometimes, you just don't want to think and just wipe out a couple thousand enemies in under 30 minutes, right?

I bought Skyrim Legendary Edition a week ago.

With the game and the 30000+ mods out there to try.....see you guys in about a decade.

Just a heads up, some mods can be pretty glitchy and even cause the game to crash, so be sure to check out reviews for them.

I'm actually pretty experienced with Oblivion mods and I know a bad mod can mess up the game.

The only mods I installed for now are the Hi_res DLC and the "Unofficial Patches" for the main game and the included DLCs. And I'm gonna play that way for a while....probably at least until I beat the main quest...

But I appreciate that excellent advice. Thanks.

If anyone wants to play some retro Fallout Games -- GOG.com has them...for Free.

Fallout 1, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics -- all for the price of $0.00 for the next 40 some hours:

I doubt my PC could handle those. It barely runs Empire Total War on the lowest settings.

Been playing Dynasty Warriors 8, and it is a lot more in depth then previous installments. Yeah, its still hack and slash, but the names are pronounced better than before (DW3 Cao Cao was pronounced Cow Cow instead of Tsao Tsao for example), more weapons, characters, and some were given their old weapons/abilities.

Though, Lu Bu is now nearly invincible again at Hu Lao Gate. But he's back to using just a halberd. Ma Chao is back with the spear.

Seriously, you try to outrun Lu Bu on foot, you're screwed. Try to outrun him on a default horse, you just barely outrun him. And he hits HARD.

I like variety. And plus, I like cheap Steam or GOG sales. I've my eye on a number of things that I'm waiting to be a part of a holiday sale on either site!

Well I am completely addicted to Battlefield 4. I picked it up for $20 on Black Friday. Yes, it crashes occasionally but it's so much fun. Highly recommended. Anyone else playing on PC?

Do you usually play every game right through (games with levels/campaigns I mean) before starting another one?

Depends on the size of the game and the genre. Games like Skyrim, I'll play other games alongside my main playthrough. But say Portal, Limbo, X-Com, Bioshock -- those were played through as my main focus.

That makes sense...I do pretty much the same....except some games that don't have much of a plot I'll play 5-10 minutes at a time over a long period...months or even years...

Indeed! I'll take a browse, but I am not sure there is anything I've had my eye on, on GOG.com -- but I know my Steam Wishlist is bursting...so I look forward to a Steam Holiday sale.

Assassins Creed. The first game. Despite having been around for a long time I haven't gotten around to play this game, and starting with game number 5 or 6 in a series is usually not a good idea, so I've played this game for a couple of hours. Probably only like 12-16 hours but it feels like I'm almost finished with the game. Not much replay value in these action games.
I must say I liked the Splinter Cell game series a lot more. Wouldn't recommend Assassins Creed I but I wouldn't deter yuo from it either as it has it's moments and is still relatively fun. The music and beeping sounds that starts popping up as soon as you get into a fight sequence is very frustrating however and soon forces you to stop playing due to headache/concussion.

I'll admit, Assassin's Creed 1 is very blah and reptitive. However, AS2 and on get much better.

Interesting, maybe I should just get the first game over with and play the next game. :-k

Yeah. AS1 is really only good for getting the whole set up to the series as it stands.

IF your into MMORPG's I've recently been hooked on Path of Exile. The XP you can earn is limitless, and areas reset after 8-15 min of absence. Level up bonuses are passive, but skill are "acquired" through gems which level up with more use. My two gripes are that each class is predesigned with a specific character appearance and that there is no tutorial for first time players. The interface is easy once you figure it out though and I also like the Potion system that they have. You can play for free through Steam, and can go through Solo or partying if desired. Also the level doesn't cap until around 90 (i think?), and skill paths are individualized based on each class.
One note though, if you're arachnaphobic, you probably shouldn't be playing this game, around level 20 you get to fight a ton of large freaking spiders, (but I dare say for some reason that's becoming a standard monster in RPG's so....)
Its free on Steam, and worth a try for any interested in a new MMO.
