This is frustrating, and not what I paid good coin for.
Things looked okay....slow, but okay, so I tried a speed game 12860713.
Silly me!

Yes, we do read this thread. Can you give me some more details about the lag you're experiencing (what were you doing, what browser you're using, other programs running in the background, etc).

Cool.
The lag is always a time-out issue. I can't recall the message exactly, but it's along the lines of 'connection to the server is lost, restart in 10 seconds'.

I can attempt a restart, or refresh the map without anything happening, or with things happening verrrry slowly. To get around it in 24hr games (where I have an hour to take my turn) I simply refresh my page. Sometimes this also takes an age. I cannot really play speed games, because I 'time out' too often.

The event occurs more than once EVERY time I have taken a move in the last 4-5 days.

I'm running IE, just like 80% of the population did 5 years ago. I know their market share is now more like 15%, and there are better options out there, but it's the browser on my company-provided laptop.

I don't usually have much else running when I'm playing. I play after work (as opposed to instead of working:) ) and I may have my Outlook Explorer email open, but that's about all.

EDIT: Just returning to the Forum menu after posting this took almost a minute. I don't have this lag at any other site I visit.

Does this help?

Don't know if it's just me, but lag seems bad this morning. Mostly on forums, though; games seem unaffected.

I was working on cleaning some things up in the database, the lag should have been only on the forums, and not for more than 15-30 seconds at a time.

Yeah, that sounds about right.

10pm, Swedish time last night.

About ten minutes of:

"Attention
Conquer Club is experiencing technical difficulties (the continuum transfunctioner got stolen by the aliens). Please try again later."
followed by something along the lines of "Do not refresh this page, click this link to see if CC is back online"

Made a bug report last night before being directed here.

Game has been barely playable for me this evening- its 8.30pm in London (GMT) Sunday 29th of September, i have 100mb broadband which seems to be working just fine. Keeps coming up with the cannot connect to host wait 10 seconds message.

Basically just extremely slow, on the point of not responding at all. I use firefox as my browser of choice. I have had to leave games midplay and rejoin in order to finish my move. No other programmes running in the background.

Not sure if it's just me or not but the site is fucked at the moment; no images are loading. The logo, icons, avatars, maps etc.

Ridiculous at the moment, having to reload everything at least twice.

Four attempts to deploy 1 troop. Six attempts to make 1 assault. Nine attempts to end assaults. Soon to be eliminated from a tournament game because attacks got duplicated. Seven fucking attempts to make this post. Complete joke.

One of the things that I have suggested for other people that I play with who are having lag issues is to turn off Grease Monkey scripts that you are not using or that are no longer being supported. Calls by old scripts to API elements that no longer exist can cause processing delays and the dreaded "website lag". I don't know enough about your individual setups to be specific but that is certainly worth a try. It has fixed the problem for other people that I have worked with.

This lag is getting unbearable. Making/editing a post on the forums is ridiculous, and I probably just lost a Freestyle game because I couldn't end my turn before my opponent, kept getting timed out when I clicked end reinforcements. I came back to CC after an almost 2 year break, bought premium back the first day, and this is how CC runs now? Getting to be really annoying.

I rarely play speed games at all because of the lag, it's not worth the risk, even with BT Infinity.

So it wasn't just my connection from Europe? It seems much better now, anyway.

I've been having a lot of issues with lag lately I have been getting a pop up saying :there was a communication error: status code is 0 and the status text is (there is nothing here, just a big blank nothing)

there are two other message blocks that come up but I cannot remember what they are off the top of my head but they pop up every so often... makes it hard to play speed games and you have to keep refreshing the page...

Not sure if it is my home network or something else but it (seems to) only happen here...

I have also noticed an increase in lag but it has been over the past 1-2 weeks, maybe longer. The lag has been related to forums, general page navigation and taking turns.

Other web pages are loading fine for me when CC is laggy. Only scripts I run are CM, bob, and map rank.
