suggestion: capping number of active games for premium membe

Post by yorkiepeter »

On several occassions we have had players who have started 100's of games at once and poor ol' lack has to go and delete them or you have simtom who can't possibly play them all and deadbeats.

We have another possible simtom going now - sdtronrud, who has got over 200 active games going. Even if he were to play all them I think he is demanding an unfair share of the limited resources available to this site.

I would suggest 50 games as not unreasonable.

You think punishing all the premium members because of 1 persons mistakes is reasonable? Premies pay for unlimited games, whether they have time to take all their turns is a matter of personal responsibility.

I think it's a bad idea.

Bad idea. We paid for unlimited games, and we should keep it that way.

I wonder if u will still feel that way next time the system runs slowly cos its struggling to maintain all these extra games, or if u happen to get caught in a few of these games that takes over a week just to advance 1 round?

How many people here actually play more than 50 games at once?

Checkout this guys games in a few days, that should make you change your mind.

If 50 is too low a limit, then ok make it 70 or so.

I really don't care how long my games take. I'm a premium member, and in the rare case that I really need my fix, I'll start a RT game.

capped memberships and membership ranks have been discussed. different types of prem memberships are a good idea i think. have a 1 star (non prem) then 2,3,4,5 star with incrementing abilities etc.

It could be a dynamic part of the code.

Unlimited games as long as you can play all of them without missing a turn. Start deadbeating, and you get "capped" and can no longer join/start games until you do.

if you deadbeat, you could get flagged by other players and have restrictions to number of games until you've stopped that habit.

i regularly play between 50-100 games and play them all promptly. and there are alot of us that play tons of games at a time, right now ive 50 games goin, and 85 in my recently finished, you cant put caps on everybody, just because of two players that are dipshits.

limitation of games quantity

Post by GROND 2cd. »

Why not connecting a limitation of games to a rank? f.e. premium members from captain up are allowed to play unlimited. this would sort out the recruit and similar premiums. the more experianced know how nuch time they need. If you are in vacation, in hospital, unimployed or whatever, you can play much more than 50 games. For me 30 and more is beside work, wife and hobbies not a problem

That's an even worse idea! I'm currently in 73 games, and the only reason I missed turns in some of them on Monday was because there was a blackout. I haven't missed my turn in them since.

This entire idea is crap. It is up to the person to decide whether or not to take his turns. If he deadbeats, leave him a negative so that others know. It's that simple.

I want to keep unlimited games. The word unlimited makes a powerful sales pitch!

However, yorkiepeter has a point about people occasionally flooding the Join page, which is a p.i.t.a. to clean up. So, I put in new limit: you cannot have more than 50 waiting games at a time.

I think everyone should find this reasonable, no?

Yeah, 50 games is reasonable. The most I've ever been in at once was 25.

50 waiting games. its not a limit on total games vtmmairk, means you just cant start more than 50 at any one time. maybe youb could put a limit on my account so i can start to lessen my addiction to the site? i just cant resisit the start your own game button.......
