I checked the XML and it said Venezuala. I can't change it though.

Yeah, I knew it was Venezuela, that's why I said it, to fix the XML.

I saw that my enemy fortified Sulawesi from Sumatra directly through Borneo?!

Is that a bug? Because I don't see a line which connect the countries!

Does anybody know?

Looks like a mistake in the XML.

I reviewed your xml and the mapmaker tool found what looks like a bug:

Warning: Sulawesi has Sumatra as a border, but not vice versa

Asides from that, it will be easy to convert all existing World 2.0 games to World 2.1 which is what I'd like to do once this is quenched.

Thanks for all your hard work!

Thanks Lack, here's a corrected version...

You fixed it the wrong way Zim, you should have eliminated the one way connection, not added the other direction. :)

I did remove the connection and I've just double checked that it is not in the XML above. Might have been a transitional problem between 2.0 and 2.1?

That's what I think. I'm glad you didn't cave in and add a positive bonus.

I still think you should violate the One China Policy and add Tibet.

I didn't realize you would be able to improve the best map in the game.

Good job!

I'm not able to attack from Cuba to Mexico though it seems clearly indicated. Is this a bug?

That's probably because you already occupy that territory.

This might be way too far after the fact, but I just noticed that the Poland army number is way off to the left of the circle. Now that I've noticed it, it kinda bothers me. Anything that can be done about this, or too minor an issue this late?

World 2.1 Map

Post by EdwinG »

A couple of minor name changes.
The region called Russia is actually known as Siberia.
What you are calling Tierra del Fuego is actually the Falkland Islands (or Malvinas Islands to the Argentinians).

If people think that the bonus for South America is too much, how about creating another border. Perhaps Ecuador to Caribbean?

No, Tierra Del Fuego is right. The Falkland Islands aren't on the tip of South America like the islands on the map are.

Some thing that confused me slightly were

1. Egypt and Levant?
2. Greece to Poland?

other than that it is pretty clear.

Might I suggest adding it to the map key what ever you decide (leaving it as 0 or making it -1). I have been in games where a player didn’t realize it wasn’t worth anything (yes, a new player).

No it's the fact I can't see if there is a border or not, they are just not clear.

Is there some link or list of what specific countries must be owned for each territory bonus? Do I need Hawaii for any bonus? Etc.

I'm sure it is in these 38 pages somewhere?

Thanks for the help!

Hawaii is needed for the "Oceania" bonus...

My best suggestion for you is to get the "BOB" script... and turn on the "Text Map"... (Standard is best for me)

This shows you exactly what countries are part of what continents... and who owns them...

Goto -> General Discussion -> Add ons ->

I'm not sure if it's been posted or not - but is there an image of this map (large one) without the army shadows?

Above is a very large (2917x2542) version (of 2.1) without the army shadows as requested...
