I agree with you intrepid and gimil, in the end that's how we'd like the map to look... please keep in mind that this is a sketch that AS and I have worked out just to see if the idea of this map is palatable to the majority of CC players.
Gimil: I don't have any reason why the lines are like they are, other than I just wanted to count my territories, and using the paintbrush seemed the easiest way to show how I would like the territories to touch
Onto the graphics... we plan to use a caricature of a stool on "Grankulla the Stool" for the background. We also plan to use a picture of Thor on Thor's space, etc... This is still an extremely preliminary sketch, but thank you for your feedback!

when i heard the idea it sounded good and i had a rough idea that it would be like ccu but that map is unplayable even with nicer collours and planning!

Warp – New Map – Advice and help needed
This map is unlike anything that has been suggested yet; so I assume it will have either overwhelming support
or a consensuses to kill it
.
The link below will bring you to a VERY rough sketch, it doesn’t even have countries drawn in yet (only some continents).
http://picasaweb.google.com/AndrewEBerman/ConquerClub/photo?authkey=mrqaPO0C2R4#5065335592956804594
(I can never get it to show in the chat so the link will have to do for now)
Here is the novel concept. The small continent in the middle has a square on it. That square can attack (or be attacked by) every circle (there is only one circle per continent). The circle can attack every territory on its respective continent. The only way one continent can attack another continent is through the square.
This means that there should be a decent amount of continents, and small sub continents (or bonus territories worth only two or three with a few territories to hold).
I think it would create some very interesting game play. Will people try t hold the square and incur the wrath of all the players, or split their forces between their respective continents and hope they don’t get attacked. It should make a good “change of pace” map and provide some interesting game play.
Now for the advice – should I continue with this concept or not (vote in the poll)
As for the help – as I have explained in my other map attempts, I really don’t have the skills to make this map a reality. Does anyone who believes in this map what to help me create it (to be honest, that would mean doing most of the creating yourself as I help with the design and concept) for shared credit?

i don't quite like the concept. maybe develop a little more and add some more features.
also if you don't have the skills to do the map then post your ideas in the ideas thread.

Re: New Map
#1 The cars in the parking lot have a corresponding color inside the store, as 253504 and I think that there should be a +1 (maybe 2) bonus if you can hold your territory and the same colored car.
wooohooo and idea of mine is in yes

I like the idea but it has a few tactical drawbacks...
The only major probelm I see is that the limited entries into each continent cause what I would call a choke-point or a bottle neck type effect. What I mean is that a player could completely take over a continent and only have to fortify one territory, namely the circle on said territory. So the way I see it this map in its current configuration would allow the first person to conquer a continent to dominate the square and thus dominate the world...
The Idea could be fixed by adding more circles to each continent and/or adding two or more squares. again I do like the concept...just needs some work thats all. later, pablo

Anyone who dominates the square automatically puts themselves against every other player in the game. As each player tries to conquer its individual continent the one controlling the square becomes their major threat and only way to expand further. In that sense it is even harder then the normal game play. Who ever conquers a continent first only has to fear the players that are close to that continent. In this “warp” map every player is in striking distance of every other player.
not a bad concept...but the map obviously has miles to go...

plysprtz, yes my idea was that each car is a territory and they can all attack each other like the center of the "Chinese Checkers" board. In addition, I think that all the cars should be able to attack the territories bordering the parking lot.
In regards to the territory lines, in the next revision I will make the impassable borders more distinguishable.

It's funny that given i dont think much of the concept at all, and obviously the map needs a lot of work...and what's with the random people like the divorced man...also i think the borders should be made more clear than white and black lines, maybe leave a small gap between each region. Make it easier on the eye cos those colours are a bit too bright. the map is a bit too full in general

there's no map because at this point the xml does not allow all the modifications i need for this map. hopefully in the near future it will and i'll be able to start working.

the whole idea of pangea (or as it should be spelt...pangaea) is that it was a super-continent and all joined together...this map shows it breaking up into Laurasia and Gondwanaland...perhaps even further down the earth's timeline, Pangaea didn't even exist by 200Million BC, It had split by 225 million BC, so either the name is wrong or the map and time period is wrong. Personally i'd rather see the real pagaea as of 225 million BC at the latest, when it was all 1 continet joined together, since this is clearly not pangaea

Wikipedia wrote:Pangaea is believed to have broken up about 180 million years ago (mya) in the Jurassic Period, first into two supercontinents (Gondwana to the south and Laurasia to the north), thereafter into the continents as we understand them today.
And, there's no such thing as a continet last I checked.

there will be a considerable amount of time before this map becomes a reality if it ever does. lots of work on the actual map plus the time we need to wait before all the xml changes are introduced. so take advantage of this time and say a proper goodbye to real life

Yes, but if the player who dominates the square is also the first to gain control of a continent, he will also be the first player getting a bonus, and thus should easily be able to fend off any/all attacks from other players by fortifying the square with his bonus troops. Meanwhile all other players are still busy trying to conquer continents in an effort to get the much coveted continent bonus troops to actively stand a chance against the ruler of the the square. at the same time square ruler is building up a large mass on the square and actively attacking every other continent's circle to prevent anyone from getting a bonus...I still think that the winner of the game, if they played without tactical errors would be the first player to gain control of a continent. Those are my thoughtsa, not yours. Pabs.
