still a great idea.
see changes all round CC but nothing happening in the Speed arena.
is it because there's no mods associated with Speed games.

Its a fine idea...Current live chat is boring and for some reason nobody cares(apart from 6/10 people who are allways there)
I think CC should rethink the whole concept of how live chat can be changed and add something positive to CC experience.
Currently it adds almost anything

The main issue with getting this submitted, for me, is moderation. If there is going to be chat, then we need have someone moderate it. Presumably, the purple team. Maybe we can get their input here.

I guess I'd agree. If it tied back in to live chat somehow (like the callouts tab as BG suggested), it'd be very easy to moderate. if it is a standalone chat, it'd be a little more work.. but i think there's enough benefit that it would be worth the extra effort.

Blake has suggested adding a docked chat similar to what facebook has that is available on every page. I think that would address the desire in this suggestion and would be an overall better chatting style as a whole. I've PM'd him hoping he can share more of his idea with us.

The docked chat is the future vision for Live Chat. In a situation like that it will be visible anywhere in site and we will be able to moderate that one chat. This would fit in fully with this suggestion.

But would that not mean that it could get over crowded with peeps from forum, peeps from speed, peeps from live chat, peeps from clans etc etc all in one chat

would it not be better for one for each area or just with the original suggestion just one for speed

The idea of putting the chat as a dockable bar at the bottom of the window is partially to get people to notice it and partially to allow chat to be used easier. While there would be a "Chat" button of some sort at the bottom of the page, it wouldn't be open unless you clicked on the button to open chat. Similar in style to how the facebook chat looks but with different functionality.

Easy, create another tab in Live Chat, say "Speed Callouts" moderate from there, and some how adhere and modify another instance of Live chat to show up in the Speed games section with only that Channel. Or somehow access the data in "Speed Callouts" to show in Speed games in another applet or something.

I guess if the current Live Chat doesn't allow this, some other options might be...

This is a great idea,

I hope it attracts more people into joining Auto Speedgame Tournaments aswell, very few people finding they're way there atm.
And with a speedgame chatwindow on the right spot people will hopefully notice.
Not very many people have a special Tab open for communication on the chats i think.

I think its rather good idea, use to enjoy playing speed game doubles but the interest just fizzled out and couldn't get a decent game going and live chat as it is seems separate to CC and only a small amount of people are interested in going there. can only increase interest.

Well, I think if global chat is supposed to cover this, then it is doing a poor job.
Let's face it, most of the people want to disable the global chat as soon as they see it.
I don't want the global chat on the "My games" page, but I would like to have it on the "join speed game" if this is suppose to help fill speed game.
Therefore there should be an option to have the chat only on the "join speed game" page.

You can always minimize it when you don't want it, and expand it when you do... by clicking the word "***CHAT*** on the left side of the Global Chat window. Doesn't that accomplish the same thing?

Since Global Chat is now released, this is being Un-Submitted for further discussion, and will be resubmitted once an updated version of this suggestion is provided.

The OP mentioned something about a callouts tab linked to Live Chat- would this now be a tab in Global Chat?
