Seriously I would consider making the focus more on Boston itself and some of the surrounding counties. Nothing wrong with making the focus small but if you want to keep this area covered, you will need to start thinking about the unused space, fudge some borders, merge some counties

I will be fixing the issues with this map and the small one. I will be sure it works before going far into it. This version was to get the names up and numbers going. I can fix all the issues at a later point though. :) I want to focus first on getting all the game play going first.

Some I feel you will not be able to. Bruce, the only thing I do not want to see is for you to carry on and spend hours on a map only to hit a lot of road bloacks when it comes time to make the small map.

I have already been testing with the small map I am sure I can make it work out. :)

all too generic... I think you need to scale it down and concentrate on what makes Boston special. I live just south of Weymouth...

It's the number test on the small version that counts most. :)

Agreed...scale it down or merge some of those smaller regions like C-Town, Medfield, Canton, Wilmington, M.H.

Risky. This is not about Boston Proper, if so the map would be scaled a down a ton.

Cairns that is true. This map is in the early stages. I will make sure everything fits in the small before I go further into it. :)

Dang it! You beat me to it. This is the map I was planning to use however as a template, as it's a little more rigid with slightly larger areas.

http://www.bostonredevelopmentauthority ... 010web.pdf

I was planning to use the Interstates like impassable walls, only letting people pass over at pedestrian crossings that existed in real life.

I don't know, maybe it can help you out as you go? Or if you could use someone to help with the XML, I'd be happy to dive in.

A Boston map is an awesome idea.
I am not sure of what the bonus structure is.
The map looks like a bunch of regions smashed together.
The highlights on the regions need the opacity lowered a little

I agree with the focusing on a more refined region.

Charleston might be a good map for you to get some inspiration from

Do all the train stations connect to each other? It is a little unclear if Quincy and Lexington connect, and if they do, does Salem only connect to S. Reading? Not sure if there is a way to make it obvious to a kindergartner (like me) what stations connect to the others and which might not.

Weymouth touches only one terit (just making sure)?

One quick comment is that this board seems to be a 1v1 board since the bonuses seem impossible in trips or quads and more or less impossible in dubs. I haven't come up with an idea but if there were another bonus possible that would require defending two different attack strats, it might make for more interesting gameplay. Or not since you have been thinking about this a lot longer than I have.

Personally,
I'm not fond of the large black "X"'s..
I think it would look better just having big bold dark border lines to indicate impassables
instead of these huge "x"'s

As for Robespierre's comment.
May I Suggest doing that with your train stations...

Control.2.stations.Bonus.+1
Control.3.stations.Bonus.+2
Control.4.stations.Bonus.+3
Control.5.stations.Bonus.+4
Control.6.stations.Bonus.+5

Then it will make the larger games mostly an initial battle to capture and control these rail lines.
