I did already record it, but thank goodness I keep track of previous ladder spots. That way I know where to put Roy when he beats you!

How did you know I would? :)
It seems to go for 2-1 in my favour. One map is clearly MGSteve's game and I can't see any way to turn my fortunes around there.

And not only was Roy's home game my first "No Forts" game, Roy taught me the correct way to play (the way he played) and the incorrect way (how I did) and beat me worse than I think anyone ever has before. :o He's still teaching me after all this time and I hope I was able to teach him a tad about USA 2.1. O:) I feel ready to take on anyone on AoR 2 now. \:D/

I'm not being challenged atm, kids. wink wink... nudge nudge

And it's still busy above me so I can't climb. Any takers? :-^ dhall, ol' buddy, ol' pal. :-D Want your spot back? Hit me now. My dice are bad.

Roy, the very fact that you knew where this was is disturbing enough. The fact that you would openly share it is... well.... unsettling, shall we say? :-s I feel like I stumbled into a retreat for the people who like to dress in animal costumes.. whatever they're called. :-#

Way to go, Roy! And by the way, I posted your Ylvis video on my Facebook page. I can honestly say that even though the video was funny, many of my friends and I have reverted to preschool days and are now dumber.

Oh...I posted the result as well. You moved up to #10 with the win since that was Steve's original position when the challenge was made. If 9trumpet9 beats you, then he'll go to #13.

Roy is a omnipotent when it comes to AOR2. He tried teaching me and I was blown out of the water...

and if I wasn't a million rungs below you, I'd take that challenge, young man!

I like Conquer 500...what "map issues" did ya'll have? I saw it was taken down for awhile.

and I got your match result as well...

I now have a vision of MGSteve dressed as a Furrie asking what kind of sound the fox makes stuck in my head...

Sorry, Wrisky....Silly Knig-It is 16 rungs ahead of you...nice to think big, but you can only challenge someone who is up to three rungs ahead of you.

Hey Guys/Gals...I'm going to be gone for most of the weekend attending my wife's ordination as a Wesleyan pastor. I should be able to get on tomorrow night. Just in case I'm not, go ahead and post match results and challenges and I'll get to them when I get back.

Thanks!

Thank you, Duk! Mine is Game 13345387. Ummmm, shouldn't you have a random game posted instead of your home game, twice?

You can, but Doc's wife is getting ready to have a baby anytime. He sent a note to us yesterday informing us...You will be next when he returns.

Sounds like a slacker to me. ;)

Legit question about situations like this: How long can a person 'take a break?' I think there should be some rule where they are either removed or have to forfeit after a certain amount of time. 2 weeks, a month, 3 months? I don't know the time, but there should be something I think.

My 3 games against [player]9trumpet9[/player] are now finished.
Game 13332345 win for me
Game 13332342 win for 9trumpet9
Game 13332604 win for 9trumpet9
so 2-1 in his favour.

I have an idea, but I don't know if it would be too complicated for celliotti to adminster. Let me know what you think.

  • Every week that you spend on vacation, you drop 1 position on the list.
  • If you reach the bottom you are eliminated permanently. As long as you don't reach bottom, you can come back.

That to me sounds unfair to those who are close to the bottom, I think. But some such scheme would probably be the way to go so that people don't take a break too long.

Here's one for you - I did manage to beat Roy (still not sure how - thought I was beat in all 3). So I'm now at #13 and Roy is at #10 - can I challenge Roy again? Rule 10 doesn't quite apply because I didn't lose my challenge against him!

Doc_Brown wrote:I have defeated [player]asbks[/player] in 2 of the 3 games so far (3rd still pending but definitely leaning his way). I know a few other people want a crack at me, but I'd like to request a brief vacation now that this challenge is effectively complete. I have a baby due to be born any day now, and I'm likely to be away for a good day or two. At most, this should be a two week vacation from the ladder, but I'm expecting less than a week.

Guys, let me nip this in the bud real quick…Doc’s original post is quoted above. It was from September 9. Rule #19a states, “A player may request a hiatus from the Ladder if they go on vacation or holiday by stating so on the Ladder thread.
a. This hiatus cannot last more than fourteen (14) consecutive days. The player on “Vacation” or “Hiatus” can be passed by players who successfully win their own challenges. For example, I’m #15 and I go on vacation. While I’m gone, #16 and #17 win their challenges and pass me, I then drop down accordingly.”

Today is Day 7. Doc expected to be gone less than a week, but for those of us who have kids know they don’t always come on our time table. Plus, with this being his first child (I believe), he probably wants to spend some time with his new family.

He will have the 14 days as he requested for vacation.

Since Doc_Brown is also #1 and no one can pass him up, chap_crap will have first crack at him. T4mcr53s2 and asbks have not mentioned anything about wanting to move up, so if they want dibs on the winner, I'll allow it.
