Some things with rings:
a phone ring
faerie rings
saturn
olympic rings
am I close?
Re: Starting a possible riddle battle

Re: Starting a possible riddle battle
Invdr_zim you're getting closest with one of your 3 guesses before but remember what I said to bombersftw - and think about it, one had to be larger than a telephone, one larger than that, and one larger than that again.
There's probably a few correct answers that would be possible to this, I'll take any of them. Think of 3 things in decreasing size order (the smallest has to be large enough for a telephone to be on) and put them in the sentence and if you get any in the correct position I'll reveal.
On an object with a ring but no finger, in an object with a ring but no finger, on an object with a ring but no finger, sits a telephone.
Edit - not all rejected guesses so far are wrong. one is definitely right and one is very much in the right ball park - but I won't take a scatterbomb "list everything you can think of" answer, I want something that makes sense as a sentence not just a list...
Edit 2 - And please remember - WITH a ring not IS a ring...

ok saturn is with a ring but I'm not sure how that would fit
Re: Starting a possible riddle battle
Pretty sure this isnt the model answer per se, but I think it works:
a telephone, on an olympic podium, in a circus tent on saturn/neptune.

That'll do Lootifer
What I had in mind was "On Saturn, in a circus tent, on a tree stump, sits a telephone" - but Olympic podium works too so I can't call it wrong.
I am a room with no door
I have a foot but no floor
I have a hat but no head
I might make you dead
What am I?

Re: Starting a possible riddle battle
No worries - I actually found a riddle of just "what has a ring but no finger" and there were loads of answers so I just expanded it.
Edited another riddle into my last post - don't miss it

Your edited one sounds familiar... but the answer escapes me... so I guess it looks like I'm working from scratch..

I'm altering the riddles I post from where I find them slightly so there can be no cheating with googling the riddle

Well you can count on me to not cheat on the riddles. I'd rather the challenge at working out an answer then taking the time to look it up.

^^ This.
Also re: ring one, yeah tree stump is much better than olympic podium, but I had the other answers and just wanted to make it work without thinking too hard.

And we have a winner! Well done Talapus

Re: Starting a possible riddle battle
Id argue that the head clue is slightly misleading, mushrooms have a head, its just sometimes called a hat...

Re: Starting a possible riddle battle
Yeah, that was a bit of a toughy in my book.
I guess, if the the head of the mushroom is considered the hat, then there's no head. lol
Not sure about the 'room'. Is the 'room' in the first clue... the <mush>"room"?
Never really looked at these before. What's up w/ the foot too? I wasn't aware that mushrooms have appendages. Roots?

Re: Starting a possible riddle battle
the base of the mushroom could be considered the "foot"

Wow if it weren't for the "make you dead" bit I would have had that... good one
I have to go to work but here's one for the day (no cheating now
)
I have one hand, one head, four feet,
A tail, some teeth to tear my meat.
Three bands I've been in: busted two.
Now, is my name yet known to you?

It's Loki's furry son, the wolf one, not the horse. However, his name eludes me atm. I think it might've been "Fenris", but don't quote me on that.

Re: Starting a possible riddle battle
Yeah I had a good go at it, but quickly realised that it was referring to something specific that I was not familiar with

I am the only thing
That breaks when I am named
I cannot be fixed
But I can be maintained
I sometimes protect
But am often found ashamed
What am I?
(this is one of those that will either last about 10 seconds or stump everyone for hours or days...)
