this didn't seem to be an issue last time i attempted this idea and the players would be put into the grid via the use of random.org
He's right tho. I played last time and remember thinking the guys in the corners had a crap deal, the centre 4 squares have a massive advantage/disadvantage (depending on whether your glass is half full/empty).
Now if u did it on a 3d shape instead of a flat square, that would be interesting. And fair.

Wouldn't that create the same scenario in the corners? to solve this you could have the top left fight the top right and bottom left as well. That would give the same number of attacks per turn. The same thing would happen for the edge pieces as well.
This is a really interesting concept though, hope it works out.

i think what wizz meant was the surface area of a 3d object like a rubik's cube which would indeed mean that each player has 4 matches but is alot harder to visualise and requires far more players but depending on this tournament i may try that in the future .
ok we have all 16 players now despite the controversy of my tournament structure well as soon as i am grtanted privaleges we will undergo the start of this tournament experiment
sorry for the delay in making the round 1 games but they are now all out let me know of any mistakes i may have made and good luck and have fun to you all.
hey plurple, thanks for the tourney it seems like it's going to be fun. Is their any chance we can get an image of the squares? I would like to know where I am.
