I don't want him to rush this next part, the initial sketches of it were a little rough. Insanely cool, but rough. They always are, I'm glad the foundry never sees them, nothing close to what he eventually delivers.
I'm still a big fan of 180 territories myself, no neutral armies anywhere ever, but if you have to do dumb things to get there then forget it.

well, currently its at 185, which is not a good number. I suppose I can bring it down to 180, which is divisable by 3, 4, 5 ,6 but not 8. This may be best.
t.e.c wrote:well, if it's still under construction and such then that's understandable.
it seemed as though it was being drawn out for the sake of it.
I'm pretty sure that's not the case. mibi has been kind of busy and can't draw it all at once from my understanding, so he decided to present things this way. It's fun for me anyway, that's all I really care about. Screw you guys actually.

I still don't understand why people think he's done with it and doing this to tease people. He explained in the first post how he was doing it.

(unless I'm totally wrong about the geography)
no, it's not post apocalypse Australia.
Yeah, not that Mel Gibson movie.

I'll risk a guess.
It is Troy. The maps posted on the first pages seem to confirm that.
But it's not historic Troy, it's more like Homeric Troy. The top portion of the map will be an Olympus-like area, and controlling the gods' territories will give you advantadges in battle - for instance, you need to control Neptune's zone to attack sea territories.
Just a way out there guess. I'm probably way off, but if I'm not I'll be really really happy.

Yes Sully is right. It is indeed Troy. The peninsula is on the Hellespont and the island is Tenedos The rivers are the Scamander and the Simois. Athough my version does not include the supposed bay that was filled in with silt from the scamander.
But there is much mystery yet to be had!

Ok, this is the top portion, the realm of worship and military dedication.
First I must say that it is not in its finished state, I still have to juggle stuff around and make it look better, but i wanted to throw it out there.
so read the rules. basically, the continent bonuses are relatively small, i might make them smaller, so to get an advantage you need to have a hero on your side, or two. once you have a hero or two you might be able to 'sacrifice' enough men to the other realm and win the favor of the gods. then your on a rolls. but the the gods and hero's are non-deployable, meaning that you wont be able to place 10 armies from a cashed set right on zeus, you will need to conquer from the bottom up, pay your dues in blood.
the biggest problem this creates is that once you are eliminated from the mortal realm, your done! the soul cannot live without the body, so you can't deploy anywhere. of course if you have no armies in the terrestrial relm then your pretty much dead anyways. but im not sure how it would actually work in the game.
the god bonuses are cool because they reflect the actual gods. zeus is king, hades is lord of the underworld, posiedon rules the seas, ares has no extra bonus because he just gets a ton of armies for being the god of war, and hermes is the messanger. I couldnt think of appropriate bonuses for the other gods, maybe some of the new xml can be a factor.
anyways, there is much to discuss...
oh and the territories are not named yet.

I look forward to seeing how it all hangs together - i.e. which altar's relate to each gods... and which barracks relate to each hero...
And also I note that there are more heroes than barracks?!
Also the conundrum of non-deployable territories and what happens when you have no territories to deploy too.
Perhaps - if you defeat an enemy that has no more deployable territories then all their armies go Neutral and they are killed?!
