Post by Jamie »

If I try to download B.O.B. to chrome it says I can not download anything from that website, and can only download things from the google chrome extension store. Anyone have any ideas how to correct this? thank you

You need to download tampermonkey first, I will see if I can find a link for you

But BoB for chrome is here, http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/115260

Tampermonkey is here https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... p-launcher

No need for anything extra.

Download the script, open a file explorer window where the .js you downloaded is, open the settings section in chrome, got to extensions, and drag the .js file to where the other extensions are, it will ask you if you want to install it, click yes and you are done, you might need to restart chrome I don't remember.

nietzsche; my man..
yes, it is how i make many scripts works in chrome for me as well.
no need for any program to do it, you can draq the .js script file into the extensions page in chrome, that is all.

what i fail to run is ONLY and ONLY map rank, other than that, all other scripts are working properly in chrome.

Thank you TeeGee. Worked like a charm. nietzsche, your idea wouldn't have worked. I had already tried that, but chrome wasn't allowing my PC to download any part of B.O.B. to any place on my PC where I could drag it anywhere.

That's odd. Chrome made changes to not allow the automatic installation of scripts that weren't from specific sites, but that's the workaround that was left open and works for everyone, did you try Save as?

That's how I do it anyway.

I click install. A box pops up at the bottom of my screen saying that this type of file can harm my computer, and do I want to keep it. I click yes. Right after that a box near the top of my screen pops up saying that I can't download extensions from that website, and can only do so from the google chrome store. So far as I can tell there is no saved file to drag anywhere. Doesn't matter much now. I was able to get it on there using that tampermonkey thing. Now I just wish I get get that map statistics add on download. Last I saw they don't have that for chrome or even the newest version of firefox.

In this page viewtopic.php?f=527&t=104488 where it says GET Clickable Maps right click it and select Save As.. it will ask you were do you want to save it, most likely in the Downloads folder, if it tells you the file can harm your computer blah blah say yes anyway.

Open chrome://extensions/ in another tab, then go to that folder and drag the file to that tab.

* I just saw I gave you instructions for Clickies, that's the point anyway.

I am surprised to see that someone has created a separate version of BOB for Chrome. It was my impression that with Tampermonkey, the mainline BOB, designed for Firefox/Greasemonkey, would work as is with Chrome.
