I agree - even over the short time I have been here I've seen an increase in professional play. Whilst a majority of newer players stick to the Sicilian Defense, very quickly they start to use a variety of openings from the Reti Opening to the Latvian Gambit. Whilst in some recent games I have seen what can only be described as a Wilkes-Barre Variaton on the Giuoco Piano.

Other than that, I've not seen many deadbeats, suiciders or silly alliances recently :D

No doubt about it!

I started last November, and have seen a MARKED increase in quality play!

Say what now??? What on earth are those?
If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?

You're taking the piss right? Cos those sound awfully similar to chess openings (I know Giuoco Piano is anyway cos that is what I generally start of with before getting more expansive) or are they just your variations on chess openings?

But, I think I would agree about the quality of play. I suppose the better and more advertised the site becomes, the better the players that join. :D
