Wow, criticizing a newbie for a developing map. Pathetic.

Okay, I critized him. THE MAP LITERALLY LOOKS LIKE POOP GOING THROUGH SOMEONE'S ASS!

Then that ass must have been ripped in two...

civver, you are correct

Someone makes an attempt, a very nice one at that and you guys brake him down, why? because you hate something? because it looks new? because you have too much time?

The font in the earlier version is a bit easier on the eyes.

-I switched it to a different font. Make sure to tell me which you like better, or if you have any suggestions.

-I also got rid of the old mountains and rivers. Any more comments?

oh, and i think "surf's up" looks horrible. and i liked penguins before it was cool. i've always liked penguins, videos of them swimming are so amazing. it just so happens that hollywood has finally recognized their awesomeness.

Sounds like a real fun idea, but it also sounds like it would be really hard to make. I wish you a lot of luck, but this will not only stretch the XML features to its limits this will also stretch your brain power and time to its limits.

i got brain power, time can be found, there's no hurry but after seeing the xml changes i realize i'm a dreamer. i had high hopes but unfortunately the changes are very few and not so drastic. so the xml still limits this idea and makes it impossible :(

The people have spoken, Coleman. They want Antarctica.
Here is a list of continents at the moment:
Queen Maud Land- 6
Wilkes Land- 5
Marie Byrd Land- 4
Victoria Land- 4
Peninsula- 3
South Pole- 3
Ross Ice Shelf- 2
Wendell Ice Shelf- 2*

*Wendell Ice Shelf could be designed simply as a territory within the Peninsula bonus if less bonuses are desired.*

At the moment there are also about six territories not part of any bonus region. However, I could look at other maps of Antarctica that are more detailed than the one I based this off of to include these regions as part of a continent.

Graphic Ideas:
Penguins in some territories, leopard seals in the water surrounding some territories, OR penguins showing bonuses in legend (ie. South Pole=a picture of three penguins).

Just some thoughts, and anyone is free to run with them and add their own.

funny because its so much more difficult to make a movie, add sound, and upload it to youtube than it is to get a image up on here...

not for me. i am a whiz with movies. i've made many of them. and my computer has a built in mic, and for some reason uploading on youtube goes faster than uploading on other sites...at least with my inconsistent internet connection.

Puzzle Map

Post by DiM »

here is one more of my ideas.
probably this one will also be impossible due to technical reasons but what the heck, i'm tired i'm sleepy and i feel like opening a new thread before i go to bed :P

so we got a map that is a puzzle and to win you gotta solve the puzzle.

basically it's only for team games or if they are ever introduced for 1vs1 games.

for this to work i need the following:
*multiple map images
*neutral teritories
*ranged attacks
*true teleportation
*modifiable impassable borders
*set starting locations
*probably some other features i'm missing right now.

so we have a huge puzzle and 2 teams. each team must solve the puzzle to win but the key thing is that you need to destroy the other team's plans in order for you team's plan to work.

because at some point the puzzle will be solved and different "sure-win" strategies will be found the map will also have a certain number of random generated aspects. like impassable borders, one way borders, neutral zones, starting positions, etc.

yeah i know it's not possible and probably most people will think it's not fun so don't bother posting. as i said "i'm tired i'm sleepy and i feel like opening a new thread before i go to bed" so good night all :)

PS: no poll this time. too tired and can't think of any funny options. maybe i'll put a poll about barby or my pony princess when i wake up :P

anyway it can't be done now but who knows maybe after lack introduces more and more features for the game engine it will be possible

now i really gotta go to bed

Oh, my mistake. It is the Wendell Sea, not the Wendell Ice Shelf. The Ice shelf there is the Ronne Ice shelf. It is smaller than I thought and would definitely be better off in the Peninsula bonus than as its own bonus.

Update:

One more continent to go, plus the over-water connections. Then I can "graphic it up" and make it look pretty.

A few mistakes already: "Transantarctic Mnts." instead of "Mtns.", "Ross Ice Shelf- 3" instead of 2.
Sorry. Still, it's a pretty awesome map.
