Not really sure why everyone's voting #1 to be honest.

Map #1 is graphically superior to other maps, thats probably why it got most votes. BTW this voting would really benefit from a banner on top of CC :)

#2 and #4 both look better imo.

I just cant figure out how to play it..maybe that is turning people back

nr 4: it is indeed the reason why I didn't vote for 4. Designwise it's great, but without even a notion of what the gameplay might be like, it's not really that appealing.

I agree, though I suggest they just make a mapmaking contest for unusual gameplay. The more unusual the better. Classic gameplay is getting boring if it's not on giant maps imo.

Nobody said number one was mine or even if I am in the contest. Why do you think number 1 is mine?

I can see that, but I see a different one.

I like 2 because it has a tert named Boob. And I'm 12 years old.

I liked 3 different maps, so I voted for all 3. Two here and one elsewhere.

I am really intrigued by 2 even though i don't necessarily love the graphics just yet.

I voted 4 and 5, both look like they could be interesting maps (given time and graphics fixes), 3 is okay but I don't care for it as much, 2 just confuses me as it is at the moment (not saying it can't be great, I just don't get it). Finally 1 (a lot of people's favourite, don't understand why?) I just don't like it - autodeploy, no attack, adjacent bombardment only territories, really? (they seem next to useless especially sun rebels to the left - an adjacent only bombardment territory that is only adjacent to one territory is useless as far as I can see)

One trick I find helps sometimes when images don't show: I quote the post, then extract the URL of the image and open it directly in another tab or window. If that works, I often find the image then appears back in the post. Not sure what's going on there, unless my browser (FF) is trying to protect me from something.

As an ex role-player, top trumps and magic had to go with 2. Also went 5, bit strange looking, but think thats why it stood out.

Whats the territ count on the maps ? - somehow smaller than i was expecting.

We may get more than one in the end. :D

1 and 2 seem to of hit the max limit of 65 regions. 3 and 4 seem smaller maps and 5 may of gone over but we will not know till completed graphics are produced.

Nope, one is not my creation and I have never done borders that way before.

Disagree. It may be closer to the final product; but it's pretty simple graphics. #2 is much more sophisticated.

Okay. I figured it out. Map #1 is simple and straight forward. Maps #2 through #5 are complex. A certain segment of users want simple. I think there should be a run-off between the top two maps. I bet that #1 would lose.

I went with 3, but 1 would be my next vote. 5 looks pretty awesome, but I've never been much of a complex map person, which is why I think 4 and 5 won't win. I can't even begin to fathom how 4 would be played.

One question: even if the other 4 maps don't win for the competition, will they make it to the list of playable maps? I mean, I would especially want to play on the second and the fourth one, so... yes, just wanted to know.

Grats Manbungalow! =D>
As you can all see, map 5 unfortunately ended up being a very rough draft... It sure would have helped to present something finished LOL.
Anyway, I'll get a better draft done and stick it in the forge. ;)

Sweet.

I'll post a thread later on today and sort some things out with koontz.

I already have some ideas for improvement, but more on that later..
