What programs do you use for map creation?
I'm just curious what programs are most popular here.
If you use Photoshop, what Filters/Plug-ins have you added on?
I hope no one says MS Paint. haha...

he's joking
he uses photoshop cs2 if i'm not mistaking. most map makers use it.
also other alternatives are inkscape fireworks and gimp.
just search the internet for graphic design software and you'll find lots of options free or with money. read reviews and search for specialized forums and make your choice.
anything that's easy to use and provides good quality will be more than enough.

i use photoshop cs.
it's a step down from cs2 but i don't notice the difference and if you have the know how then you can get it for free for an unlimited amount of time
although if you going to draw the map completely youself then you would be better using illustrator and having a completely vectored file.
i heard good things about gimp but never used it.
never ever ever you ms paint. in the darker parts of my past i've made better images in ms word then ms paint.....

I'd imagine you better keep it to PM, and not advertise it either.

GIMP is a Free program. Unless the link he gave us is illegal...
IF it is here is a link to downloads.com (it is very relible with no viruses)
