Greasemonky Script - Saved Searchs

Post by stocksr »

Do you find yourself running the same searches in the game finder over and over again? then I have a handy Greasemonkey script for you.

Requirements
You must be running Firefox with Greasemonkey installed.

Installation
Click on this link (with Firefox and Greasemonkey installed)

User Guide
Saved Searches User Guide

THIS IS NOW REHOSTED AT
http://userscripts.org/scripts/source/41804.user.js

(Uninstall old version from
http://robertstocks.co.uk/conquerClub/cc-savesearch.2.user.js)

What does it do
It adds an additional button to the Game Finder "Bookmark this search", just click it and see what happens.

Bonus Feature
If you name a saved search DEFAULT (all caps) then the script will auto load it every time for you.

Hi Alex, its not that hard to get started, just right click on the monkey and choose "New User Script", and read
http://diveintogreasemonkey.org/

The hard bit is working out how to do what you want to do on a specific page.

it also really helps if you are a programmer with years of experience with JavaScript (which I am).

Great script...

1 Small minor bug - your pointer is set wrong on your text buttons... I get a carat instead of a pointer when hovering over the links...

Otherwise I love it loads... like the "load" feature... Ace work.

Wow,

Great, I was tired already of checking the same options all the time. You've made my life on CC much easier!

Thanks! :D

I've got another bug for you I'm afraid...

Try to enter a private game and the password screen shows your buttons and allows you to click options that I don't think will work very well?!

Fixed in version 2

You're great pal...

Don't reckon this needs any new features - it works beautifully!!

Out of curiousity... how many searches can it hold?

Yeah, if Lack did it, it would be better, but he's got much more important things to do, that matter a lot more.

How many premium members are there? say 1,000? that's $20,000. he could spend lets say $4,000 and pay someone to clean up the "TO-DO LIST." This is a gold-mine, this site. I'd buy a membership sooner if I could see some of the things on the list get done.

I just love the site, and gotta admit,I've grown addicted to CC.Come on,I'm sure lack has a lot to keep up with the evergrowing CC community.

And what I meant to say,was thanks for the saved searches!I almost always look for one type of games to join in the game finder.A relatively small, but very useful script,I say.

Thanks Rob :)

2 things:

The bookmark list should be "Saved Searches" - you've missed that last 'e'.
[This thread suffers in the same way ;)]

Also, could you possibly add the Saved Searches list to the end of a search results page?

That way, having run one of my saved searches and got no hits, I can immediately run another from the results page without any further navigation. Or for that matter 'load' another and be taken back to the Game Finder page to make any further tweaks I want to the criteria.

Who said it didn't need any more features ? ;)

Not by me, if anybody wants to action this request I am happy to host the modified script.

My Reasons

First, if a search returns no results then the site returns you to the search form anyway.

Secondly your request is a lot harder to do than it sounds, because of the way that GreaseMonkey works. (it's limited working on the current page)

I wanne thank you very much for this New Greasemonky Script!!

I'm organiser of two tournaments and with the script its easy to find all the games. Now I can see the progress of them in less then a second....
Before I have to fill everytime the tournament name! But with your script its over and 1-click and I find all the games.

You've done a great job!!!!!
