CC is declining again!

things CC can do to become more popular:

• allow businesses to show advertising on the website(like a banner), which renders revenue which can then be used for web advertising
• re-write the front page text so certain key-words like "risk", "strategy game" or "play online" are mentioned more often and connected to each other. You can also mention some key-words as titles or mention them in the url. That should also prop up the Google Ranking of the website concerning those specific words.
• make sure the homepage and website instructions, rules, etc. can also be found in different languages. This should enhance the probability of non native english speaking people to find the website.
• there are websites with lists of online games. make sure CC gets mentioned on the list. With some of 'm you can even get on top of the list if by voting system.

I started playing CC because a coworker showed me at work as well.

yes, cause i dont want random, i want 1's for my oponantans and 6es for mine, anything else is rigged....
it its streaky agent, then become conqueror in a week. if it is as bugged as you say, someone should be able to figure it out. ofcourse it turns out people do not like random, they like predicatability, except they get their math wrong

Ah yes, but it is streaky random..that's the problem. If I start rolling and start winning I win by a lot and now I stop if I start losing, tip for those that keep rolling you will lose more. It is a problem and encountered by many..atmospheric noise, yeah really random thought that one Now, are there better random dice generators based on different principles.. yes. Are they right, well we should give it a try in Beta or if not many frustrated customers. There is a pattern emerging and I've looked into how random.org choose their numbers and there are some very good critics with even more knowledge than myself who feel the same way. Now of course you will get strange happenings with real dice but not as often as this so called random.org generator does.

For me I prefer the method of the quantum random number generator, it shows to be far superior to generating random dice

My 2 cents, and that is all I will say because everyone has to use random.org and make of it as they will. CC declining can be for many different reasons, dice may just be one of them.

Oh and don't be silly SirSebastar making conqueror has nothing to do with dice but choosing to play a particular map over and over thus manipulating the scoreboard. You are aware of another thread I presume which talks about who the true conquerors of this site are.

Do I want to this? no. It would be so boring And if one wants to do this, they are then called all sorts of things ( cheater comes to mind ) or simply manipulator of a complex map.

When I look at the number of online users, I see it's like only 60% of the number I used to find a year ago.

This indicates CC is not even stable and non-growing; rather, it's declining!

17315 are the current users. I think they used to be +20.000 last year.

Eventually, all that will remain is we few idiots here on the fora.

I dont care if the # goes from 15000 to 14000 and we lose 1000 NR who didnt like it, but if we lose 1000 premiums... thats bad.

Nailed it BG, we do have some really cool freemiums, but they tend to be (premium - freemium) from time to time. If the site has 13,000 Premium and 1,000 cool freemiums then the site is strong

CC needs to further diversify itself by making it self stand out and the more options it adds the better it will do so. Right now the game play settings are stagnant and could benefit from utilizing some of the great ideas being thrown around in suggestions. Unfortunately there are rank and file members that advocate hard against any changes even if means nothing would be lost and only gained. This site is awesome but if some dramatic changes do not happen soon it may end up another dead site flooded with nothing but ads and spam.

Unfortunately, as you say, this is true but I think the reason these people do this is because they have been wanting certain updates for ages and don't want any attention drawn away from the suggestion that they want implemented. It's somewhat selfish but in a way you can't really blame them. There are only so many resources to go around.
Then again there are some players who are just old and crusty and generally contrary.

I remember posting this almost a year ago. Let's just say things haven't gotten better since hah.

I had no data for large sections but I think the trend is pretty clear.

I disagree. Sure while some have left, there is new blood flowing in. The 1st page is harder to get on than ever. This is a game where people can only play so long before they tire of it. With that said, CC is still fine even with a slight summer decline in people. It will start picking up again soon.
