Haha, nope. If anything, we shouldn't be getting snow in March.

Anyway. Some issues:

Capitals10 doesn't override Capitals5
Tyre is a part of Capitals10, shouldn't be
I can't tell what the capital in the eastern war zone is. You have it as Edrei in the XML. perhaps move it to the top of the army number? Same with Samaria.
Does the menorah go to Golan or Avisha?

Coordinates that could use an adjustment:
Small
Bezer
Beth-Nimrah (thinking on top of name)
Mahanam
Yedid
Samuel
SS-1
Golan
Chana
Vujo
Samson
Adamah
Abdon
Ebdon
Elon
SS-2
Sharuhen
Ziklag

Large
Bezer
Mahanaim
Bethel (a little more left)
Dead Sea 2 (a little more left)

Most of these either cover up some of the capitals/menorahs/territory names or borders.

Borders are okay. Once the above things are changed, this can get stamped.

If this plays like Florida, I am going to love this map.

Sorry I never followed up on this MB. Obviously I'm happy with them and think they look pretty good, as did others along the way, but if more people have a problem with them I am more than willing to take another look at them.

Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks so much for all of your help, time, and energy Gilligan.

- Correct, Tyre shouldn't be a part of the Capital bonus.
- Edrei is the Capital in the Eastern, and Samaria is for Western.
*Right now the capitals and the levite city (menorah) symbols are under their respective names, so Golan is the levite city for the east, as is Shechem for the west. I'm not sure moving them to the top of the army number makes it less confusing, but rather more because then they are a little more disconnected from the rest of the set. Also, if one is changed they would all need to be changed in order to keep consistent and not be even more confusing. Moving them is not really an issue, just looking at the 888's in the OP though they seem to be pretty well laid out, but certainly you have an eye for this stuff.

Maybe we have just been looking at it for a while, so would love some other eyes to make sure there are no issues. It would be great if we could get it in beta to see if it's really an issue though.

Now that I look at it a little bit more, it seems like the capitals should be fine as the other territory it "could be" is the slingshot. Not thinking the capital would be a slingshot. But at a glance, though, it was a bit "which one is it?!"

I still think the Golan one is a bit confusing, but as you said we can see after Beta if many people bring it up. A simple remedy could just be moving the "eastern war zone" over a little bit, and making some more room for the menorah to seemingly belong to Golan only.

Gilligan,

here is the new xml. I don't know if you wanted to move to the edges of the swords, but that's what I did so it's more centralized for one and two digit numbers.

I am looking more at the 888. If you run the coordinate checker, the numbers still block some important aspects (menorahs, borders, names, etc)

Not that it's confusing as is, I just think it could look much smoother and cleaner if the army numbers don't block the aspects of the map.

this tool here (viewtopic.php?f=649&t=74500&start=15#p4026393) might help you. it's what I used on the USA 2.1 XML where the army circles were centered around 3 digits, not two.

Gilligan,

try it now, it shouldn't be touching anything on the small map now http://www.fileden.com/files/2011/9/30/3202881/israel8.xml

Gilligan brought this to my attention, and I took a look at the small map with the test coordinates:
Image
Both War Zones will have to be rearranged to make sure there is no confusion on which territory is which. This is on the small only. There are too many regions that are too close to another region. Players are going to have a problem with them, so we need to do this now before this gets the XML stamp and into Beta!

My suggestion is to make the Eastern/Western War Zone text smaller and move it off to the side, which will free up some room to space things out more. Worst case it to abbreviate Eastern/Western War Zones to something like EWZ and WWZ and place the abbreviation into the legend somewhere to say what they are. This will give you even more room to space the regions out more.

Ok, fair enough. I'll work on making those war zone labels smaller and spacing the terts out a bit, I'll do the same on the large though bc I want them to look as identical as possible.

Sorry for the delay, I have this pretty much worked out and should be able to post an update later tonight or tomorrow.

I guess VJ will have to update the xml based on the new placements. I'm having to make quite a few changes, which will also need to be done on the large. So the next update will most likely just be the small.

CURRENT UPDATE INFO - 2013-03-29:
- I redid both War Zones on the small version, so this update is of the small only. If everyone could take a look to make sure it all lays out well, and is clear that would be great, and then I'll update the large in the same way.

CURRENT MAP VERSION:

v15.0 - Large (840x800)
[bigimg][/bigimg]

v15.0 - Small (630x600)

Looks good, now I can tell what goes to what. You don't have to do the large the same way, unless you really want to spend the time doing it. All that you need is the updated CB tests, Starting position version, large and small posted (and in the first post) and we can get this thing moved on.

Ok. The CB and 888 versions are on the first post, and did not change with moving the terts around. If versions of the updated map need to be made that's fine just let me know.

Just to be clear, the large is good to go. This way you only have to redo the coordinates for the small in the xml. Which means you can get that XML stamp a tad bit faster, which means moved into the Beta stage! ;)

CURRENT UPDATE INFO - 2013-04-03:
- I went ahead and redid the large version to match the changes made to the small, since V.J. is on vacation this week. He'll update the xml as soon as he's back, and we should be all done after that. I also updated the OP with the new 888 versions.[/spoiler]
