Re: Ding! Dong! The witch is dead!
I'm looking forward to this funeral. Just like the vote on this thread, the people in GB are split 50 / 50 of liking / hating her.
The police were struggling with what to do with me and my mate on Sunday. They are going to be equally confused with what action to take when 50% the people watching are going to be booing, hissing, backs turned to the hearse. Obviously they are going to nick anyone chucking eggs....
Should be an interesting day.

How terrible. Honestly whatever you think about a person, this is their funeral show a shred of human decency.

A 10 million pound propaganda exercise at the tax payer's expense? Excuse my indignity and indignation.

So protest the governments spending on the funeral. Don't jump in glee at a persons death.
*edit to correct my second sentence, Keyboard was running low on batteries and I didn't notice the typo.

lol I would assume he meant "don't," and I would agree. It's called common decency...unless they want to be lumped in with the crazies at Westboro.
On a related note, does anyone have any idea what the funeral costs have been for past prime ministers or high level dignitaries in the UK?

Re: Ding! Dong! The witch is dead!
the queen mother's funeral cost 8.6 mill
This one is supposed to be 10 mill, but they aren't counting the cost of the armed forces and some other shit i read today.
It's all bollocks. Figures massaged and rinsed, then given another rinse, leave out the police overtime, don't include for police overtime to deal with the protesters arrested / processing / court costs.
This ones going to be 30-50 mill easy.

Re: Ding! Dong! The witch is dead!
I just rang my local funeral home and asked about the "Alexander the Great Package"
Apparently you get put into a gold sarcophagus, which is then put into a gold coffin filled with honey. Your body is then stolen and taken to Egypt, where the Holy Roman Emperor will knock your nose off. You are then buried in a secret location.

In all honesty, I was surprise to hear about Thatcher's death...
But only because I thought she had died years ago.

The last PM to have a state funeral was Churchill in 1965. This is part of why I call it propaganda.

Whoa. Since when is the Queen Mother dead? Her highway is still running smoothly...

2002?
How much for a "keep your nose" upgrade?

Then why haven't they closed her highway? That seems disrespectful

The English are still remain open to it.
By 'the English', I'm referring to all the Scots, Welsh, and Irish.
