I'm a Lieutenant now! I know I haven't been around here in a long time, but it was the strategy I learned at SoC that brought me here. Without this group, I would still be a Private. Thank you Society of Cooks!

Corporal, thanks to SoC training and specifically macbone and betiko. There is still much for me to learn, but I have benefitted IMMENSELY.

"Dude...that's not what I told you to do." -betiko (lol...classic.)

EDIT: I would be remiss in not referencing the strategy guides (the textbooks really) that really expand one's perception of what to consider when analyzing a map. The game becomes exponentially more engaging when you realize there is an awful lot more to it than initial placement and dice luck. :)

1 YEAR

++I'm not accepting any game invites for a little while. Going to let my current slate of games run down, then take about a month off.++

Hi,
Bouncing around LT & Sgt 1st class - but over last few days have managed to solidify my ranking - now sat at 1792 - suddenly my pips are a realistic option...
Thanks to the SoC for the help and advice.

I still have along way to go - but the tips and advice has helped immensely.

Now confident to join in a few tournaments - and experiencing diferent maps - and the strong fundamentals of strategy are key - just adapt them slightly in different circumstances.

Hi,
I finally managed to get to Lt - after bouncing around and then got a run of good wins - where I think the focus on the strategy really helped keep me on-track - now I've moved to Capt

Thinking about these last few games - I've learn't to harness my initial thoughts, and just take that extra moment to review again whats in front of me. I've been surprised on what that second glance has suddenly crystallised.

I've still a long way to go and it's definitely a case of you never stop learning.
