MLB 2013

THE OFFICIAL MLB SEASON 2013 THERRAD

Justin Verlander just signed a record breaking extension that could reach over $200 million and will keep him in Detroit through 2019. [player]nietzsche[/player], that means he won't be going to Boston, sorry Mr. Mexico.

Tigers are my pick to win the World Series this year. DISCUSS.

Way overpaid for a player who only plays in 1/5 of the games.

Cardinals over Reds in 7 in NLCS

Cardinals over Angels in 6 in WS (NL homefield).

Gotta go with the Jays. Been a long time since I was excited about any MLB season. This year us Jays fans have something to be excited about. Good on paper...hoping it translates to some wins and a playoff berth this year.

Mr. Bandwagoner, it's time to bail on the Sox and pick another team.

Got Houston winning 100 games at 10 000:1. With odds like that, I can't lose.

Srsly though: jays at 35:1, now I am seeing them at 7:1 and 8:1. W00t.

I don't see how this makes sense. Think about it this way, Verlander faced 956 batters last year. The league leader in plate appearances last year was Jeter with 740. Verlander factored into more than 200 more PAs then the highest batter. Pitchers may play in only 1/5 of the games, but they still play more.

As for predictions I must also go with my O-R-I-O-L-E-S!

Now add in the number of players they put out on defense.

I wouldn't pick the Jays just based on their experience. Even as a Sox fan, if I had to pick a team to win it all that wasn't the Saux (you know, because I would pick them otherwise), I would pick the Tigers. They've been there, done that, have last year's triple crown winner, arguably the best pitcher in baseball and a veteran manager.

Well considering that the Jays have a very much revamped lineup, I'd pick them to get the first wild card or the second wild card slot. That is all!

AL EAst
Toronto Rotation: Solid 1-4 starters Offense: Has homerun power.
Baltimore Rotation: Very questionable. Offense: No on base.
Tampa Bay Rotation: 1-4 starters, overall young but promising. Offense: Streaky
New York Rotation: Old starting staff, enough in tank? Offense: Lite hitting outfield.
Boston Rotation: Good and bad days. Offense: Youngsters might surprise.

AL Central
Detroit Rotation: Strongest in division. Offense: POWER
Kansas City Rotation: Strong Offense: Potentially everyone can hit.
Chicago Rotation: Solid 1-3 starters Offense: Average
Cleveland Rotation: Middle of the road. Offense: Looks potent.
Minnesota Rotation: Very questionable Offense: Can keep healthy(Morneau, Mauer)?

AL West
LA Angels Rotation: Best in division Offense: Power and speed
Oakland A's Rotation: Iffy if they can stay healthy Offense: Bottom half of lineup, can they hit?
Texas Rotation: To many injuries? Offense: Looks sporadic
Seattle Rotation: King Felix might keep them in the hunt till May Offense: Some pop in the bats but will need a road sign to point the way to first.
Houston Rotation: Norris solid, rest? Offense: Where?

NL East
Washington Rotation: 1-3 strongest in division. Offense: Power, almost everyone can contribute.
Atlanta Rotation: Can youngsters Medlen and Teheran produce Offense:Can the Upton boy's turn it around?
Philadelphia Rotation: Is there anything left in Lee and Holladay's tank? Offense: Some speed and pop.
NY Mets Rotation: Might be a surprise. Offense: Wright and who?
Miami Rotation: Can rookie Fernandez be a surprise? Offense: Will minor leaguers start showing up in May to bring life into the offense?

NL Central
Cinncinnati Rotation: Potentially solid 1-5 Offense: Almost everyone can hit.
St Louis Rotation: Solid Offense: Can the MASH unit mend them quick enough and will age catch up with Holliday and Beltran?
Milwaukee Rotation: Gallardo solid, will have to carry Offense: Braun and a couple others.
Pittsburg Rotation: I need a press guide for this one. Offense: Will probably put some runs on the board.
Chicago Rotation: Look for them in the Cards MASH tent. Offense: Tryout's at Ditka's.

NL West
LA Dodgers Rotation 1-5 have average years will be tough to beat. Offense: Need leadoff guy and some team chemistry.

Arizona Rotation: Will keep them in the hunt. Offense: A lot of pop.
Colorado Rotation: These guys only going to pitch 4 innings a game again? Offense: Potentially one of the best offenses in the divsion if Helton can stay healthy.
San Diego Rotation: Will they go thru a rash of injuries like last year? Offense:South of the border in Tijuana.

Red Sox (biased pick) and Texas, along with division winners LA, Tampa and Detroit.

In the NL I have division winners Natinals, Cardinals and Giants with wild cards Reds and LA.

I'd say Tampa for Wild card for sure, don't know who will be second though.
