Fall 01! some very bold moves from some players, and a decided lack of moves as Austria-Hungary falls into anarchy as its leader falls into a fit of navel gazing

Austria-Hungary is considering a peaceful existence.

Russia and Turkey have united and will destroy my people, which means that Italy and Germany will then be crushed by Russia and Turkey--respectively. Italy and Germany will be no match for the supply centers of the Russo-Turkish Axis of Evil.

I can't hold them for long, but I'll die in my palace--enjoying crème brûlée and vodka til the end.

That's the spirit BBS!

Now might I suggest giving your soldiers orders? they may be more effective that way.

A deadline comes and goese I am no longer willing to wait on the last player who has not submited orders. Therefore we proceed without his build orders.

Who was our Dunce this round? Funky Terrance! Everyone point and boo at Funky terrance. For shame!

Bellow is a photo of Funky terrance.

Now that that business is taken care of let us move forward.

Spring 02 moves are due a week from now. Tuesday april 2nd.

As an aside how do the players feel about progressing the turn when orders have not been received. Am I being to strict? Too lenient? Just right? Feedback would be appreciated.

I'm cool with progressing. It would have hurt me this time, since I misread, but war waits for no man. The time frame is pretty relaxed, and we have plenty of time to talk, so err on the stricter side. If there's a beginner issue, I'm cool with being a little more lenient, but if I can't read or FT disappears, or BBS is having some sort of internal revolution, then let us suffer for it.

So if someone fails to submit orders, you feel I should simply progress?

Very well I will be more strict. My worry is that a player not submitting orders seriously imbalances the game ,their opponents pick up a lot of territory quickly. It'ss fine for a player to gain a big advantage but it's a drag when it hapens from something like a people not submitting orders. it cheapens the win.

This round I will strickly enforce the deadline and see how that goes. i will try and send out a reminder a day or two before hand.

Also I was asked to post the map with place names on it. so here it is.

It does cheapen the win a bit, but it's better than risking stagnation IMO. It's a balance though, and with newer players it might be a bit harsh. I dunno. See what the other fellas think.

I'm not sure that makes sense.

Moves will be updated soon my appologies for the delay. Should our last holdout get their orders in before I finish work at 10. They will still be able to submit orders. If they don't they will suffer the consequences of a public shaming.

I dispute it's uselessness. I have seen it used very effectively. It usually requires a leap of faith on the part of the Austrian player.

And a battle with Italian seas, which proves pointless ATM
