Ok guys, finally I was able to check and double check this huge xml file. It was nightmare in some parts!
Anyway, here below a list of things for you:
Coords to move Small Version
-Arcata -San Francisco - Pierre
Big Version
Juneau
Unclear Connections (not everyone is american ) Small Version
- Boston, it's not clear if is in Maine or Massachussets -Newark, not clear if it is in New York or New Jersey (this one could be good because there's the abbrevaition into the legend) -Richmond <-> Virginia Beach, dots are almost invisible there -Philadelphia <-> Trenton, the road is invisible there -Augusta <-> Savannah, dot's visible, but they could be better -Kennewick <-> Spokane, again dots -Lawton <-> Oklahoma City, dots invisbile -D.C. is Maryland but looks VA on the map -Weston is not clear if it is West Virginia or Maryland
Big Version
-Boston border is unclear
I strongly suggest to add abbreviations (e.g. Alaska (AK) ) to the bonus names so it's written in the log, it's a pain to understand where some are if you don't have a knowledge of US geography.
Missing Connections (I found just one gilly )
-Seattle <-> Anchorage, missing blue plane connection
Missing Parts/info/Components into bonuses
- D.C. doesn't have the +2 autodeploy into the code but i see it on the map. -Capitals on Route 35, Austin is not included into it. Obviously the <bonus> tag must be extended to include the 4 option. -Boston is not on Route 90, when the route starts (or ends) into that city. -Route 20 has some unnecessary lines into the code, line 1496 and 1497 can be deleted -Pennsylvania is +5 on the map but only +4 into the code -Dyer is not part of Kentucky -Tennessee is not listed anywhere as bonus inot the code -Utah and washington are doubled into the code, lines from 1017 to 1040 can be deleted
Starting Positions & Neutrals
-Annapolis is the only starting positions with 5 starting neutrals. Is it desired?

- Boston, it's not clear if is in Maine or Massachussets - Moved Boston down -Newark, not clear if it is in New York or New Jersey (this one could be good because there's the abbrevaition into the legend) - I agree, since Newark is in the abbreviation legend it should be self explanitory -Richmond <-> Virginia Beach, dots are almost invisible there - Moved down -Philadelphia <-> Trenton, the road is invisible there - Moved to the left -Augusta <-> Savannah, dot's visible, but they could be better - Added Augusta to the abbreviation list -Kennewick <-> Spokane, again dots - Moved down and to the left -Lawton <-> Oklahoma City, dots invisbile - Moved to the left -D.C. is Maryland but looks VA on the map - For gameplay purposes D.C. is in neither Maryland or Virginia (though it is technically in Maryland) so no changes made -Weston is not clear if it is West Virginia or Maryland - Moved down
Big Version
-Boston border is unclear - Moved down

Gilligan, when you are done can you please just update the post in the XML thread?

Done, except Boston is on route 90

Annapolis is not supposed to be a starting position
Maybe kind of late to chip in with this observation, but it seems like the Calgary text is running into "HI +1". It's decipherable, but maybe to avoid first look confusion you could move the Calgary text to the lower right of the troop circle.
And a few of the state abbreviations I would shift (just a suggestion for whatever it's worth) AR a couple pixels left VA up slightly VT right one pixel
I guess I'd expect it to go one of a few ways: mirroring the current USA map color scheme, going full on red-white-and-blue, or going a more traditional route with more evenly distributed colors across the spectrum - it doesn't seem to balance aesthetically-speaking.

ian.
Would be helpful indeed.

sorry, guys, i forgot to mention earlier post about including the state abbreviation in every name. the main reason for this is to help players who aren't very sure of the location of a city that has just been won or lost in the game log, for example not everyone knows where to find small towns such as colby or dyer on such a large map. this can be a big issue in freestyle or speed games.

Oh, I didn't think about that. I guess that makes sense. I guess I'm late on the train anyhow. Sorry.
The map has passed through rigorous gameplay and graphics examinations and all major concerns have been addressed, the xml has been checked and stamped. So, If you have any other concerns, please make your voice heard. If after a reasonable amount of time there has not been any objection or protest, the map will be stamped and submitted for the Beta period.
