Maybe I'm crazy, but couldn't the rating system just work exactly the way the CC points system works. Use the same formula? Maybe it's been suggested before, but why couldn't that be another system that could then be combined with things like F400 and others to be averaged and create a BCS type ranking?

removing the top and bottom score and having some good coaches selected for this poll, we can get a good picture of the OVERALL picture of clan perceptions / potential

yup. that's how they do it in several sports to void subjective marks. for each clan take out 2 maybe 3 best and worst scores.
that should help clear any anomalies.

Can we make the submitted rankings from each rep public (i.e. post them in a thread)? This way there is less chance of bias. It also makes the whole exercise more interesting for spectators.

lol if you did this when he goes 2 do it a 2nd time clans will rate other clans bad because they rated them bad. but would be a fun thread to read every one bitching about that clan ranked other clans and visa versa....

And I agree...nothing like a bit of controversy. Then again there shouldn't be any controversy if it's all in the open. People can give reasons for why they have ranked a clan where they have. It would be a lively debate.

I think the idea is to focus on the collective perseption and not tear apart and focus on individual perseptions.

Why? I think most people can be fairly intellectually honest and rate themselves fairly.
BG is already taking out top and bottom results so if someone rates themselves way out of line, it'll be neutralized anyway. Plus he has said he will make sure each submission is reasonable etc.

So a 18th rank clan saying they were 10th might get dropped and if they said 1st hed probably say unreasonable.

These situations basically take care of themselves if you can't be self reflective and honest about it.
