I dont think this map should EVER be put on the site in the condition it is in....

Concept is very good....Love the bonus legend but its too small.

A 3 player game and you will have 6 tettoritys!!!!!

At least make it 24 countirs not 18. Also binus's are wrong espically for russia and when it touche europ im quite confused where you can attack to and from!

But hulmey that gets rid of the point of the map. If you add countries its just too cookie cutter.

Territory names.

Post by Eyelidman »

In terms of names, I think that the only one that really needs to be changed would be "European Onion". I think that a 7 year old probably wouldn't know about the European Union, and wouldn't make that spelling mistake if he did, because he would recognize onion as a diferent word, and decide that the spelling was different. Onion rather than union is a typo, rather than a spelling mistake. Change it back to europe, or maybe to a random name of a european country.

I'm also slightly bothered by East India. I don't think a young child would know about the East/West India thing, so either cut the east or change it to china.

Brazil could also be changed to "Jungle" or something of that nature.

Also, the conecting lines conecing iceland to the Uk and Europe should be pink like the rest of the lines.

Yeah, you should change "East India" to "China". I don't like "European Onion" either, how about just "France", "Germany" or some other European country on the mainland?

If I use just one country I feel like I'm neglecting all the others. China, maybe.

Yeah I don't really like European Onion, how about Europia. I like it but it may sound dumb to experienced mapmakers like yourself. I think its ready though. I think you should keep it as East India. Thoughts?

I still support my idea of Europia, it sounds stupid like something a 4 year old would do. But if your a fan of New Zealand ok.

I want to get onto this inside joke. Don't leave me completely out on this. But seriously what's wrong with Europia it is stoopid enough for a little kid to do.

Look, I've considered a lot of different names for that territory, and there are others that I think are better, and European Onion amuses me more, and if you want to get the joke read through the whole topic.

I just enjoy making these huge quotes. But maybe you can make something like Queen Victoria's palace, as a nice gesture to how large the queen's castle is. But hey I hardly know anything so don't listen to me its probably stoopid.

Queen Victoria's palace? Now, I'm no history expert, but isn't that in the UK? Of which she was queen? And is it really all that large?

well if i can't have new zealand ( :x ), my vote still goes for european onion. i like it because i can see a child of 7 mispronouncing "union" or seeing it written somewhere and thinking of onion instead..

I dislike European Onion. It's too long. I'd say "Yurup" is a better choice.

There was also a person earlier who said this needed just a few more countries and I agree that might help. Here are some suggestions to go from 18 to 24. Pick 6 of the following:

1. Add a country/continent at both the top and the bottom called Artica. A child may think that since the left and right join on a map of the world, the top and bottom must join also. It might be an interesting addition.

2. Add Hawaii to the map but call it Japan.

3. Add Texas where Mexico should be in the Andy's Mountains.

4. Add Amnesia where Micronesia should be.

5. Change the direction indicator into an actual country and call it "Nwes?" (as in a child's misunderstanding of its purpose).

6. Add a vertical bar on the left or right and call it Date Line.

7. Add Mad Nascar where Madagascar is.

8. Add Albuquerque at the bottom of Africa.

9. Add the North Pole.

10. Add Coreeya.

11. Add an island in the Gulf of Mexico and call it Caribun.

12. Call the island west of UK London.

If you still don't feel like adding anything, that's fine.

Now, I'm not about to go and add territories... but those two just puzzle me.

hehe... Albuquerque just seems to fit in with Mozambique and Zimbabwe. The Coreeya is Korea sounded out. I guess that could also just be Corey, Kory, or however that name is typically spelled.

If the map is done anyway, I guess I'm a little late. It's good. :D

I saw Andy  so I'm running around bumping maps I want him to comment on. Do I think it will accomplish anything? No. But I'm doing it anyway, because I'm neurotic. =P~
