far east fog of war game..... this was sent to me private message I sent back that it was cheating he insists its ok because he didnt propose alliance... not only is e proposing alliance but telling me of 2 continents I can;t see am I wrong here is this ok?????

No it is not. "unless we start fighting him....." that is proposing an alliance. It does not matter though, ALL game chat must be done in game.

In the pm he sent there is an upside down triangle with an exclamation mark in it. click that. it will send the pm to the proper folks as proof. otherwise it is he said she said situation.

Well, I am not proposing an alliance. I am not suggesting any specific action. And regarding the fact that you say I am telling you about two continents you cannot see, well, if you read the log game, everybody can see the two continents, no matter how blind you are...

In addittion to my last comment, the fact that this guy says that I an informing him about two continents that he can´t see, because the game is foggy either shows that he cannot read or he is trying to make my "crime" (although I reckon I shouldn´t have sent him the PM) look worse. In any case, this is far more serious because he consciuosly lying. Well, or that, or he effectively cannot read...

The thing is, all game related talks should be made in game chat. Unless the op has thrown the email away, and therefore can't verify that you said what you said, you're going to get some sort of punishment. Probably just a warning if you have never been warned or banned before.

From the rules, in bold the important part:

Any form of diplomatic discussion between opponents must be posted in the game chat in English or in a language that all opponents understand. Diplomacy includes, but is not limited to: proposing truces, negotiating alliances, and coordinating assaults. Secret diplomacy can be hard to prove, but if you suspect it you should leave the players in question appropriate ratings. If you feel certain about players engaging in secret diplomacy consider reporting them in the Cheating & Abuse Reports forum by posting a new topic.

Any, doesn't matter if he can see it or not, if its an alliance or not.
Plus if he knew by reading in the log, why didn't you tell in the game chat?

I can read this what I see it called fog of war ........ ? from ? does not tell me where his men are at.... quit name calling saying I can;t read..... and of course your rating is higher if you play like this all the time and think it's ok...... please play fair or don't think your ratings mean anything.....

NAclean99...what Matt is sying is that good players can "read" the maps by what is (and isn't}there....he's a good player who can obv "read" many maps and has just forgotten that FOW i for ALL players and that what may be obvious to him is not to many others...BAD Matt....nothing too drastic should befall but remember that new players coming onto CC should also be given respect...no biggie...prob a warning...

well i personally have no probs with player saying that another player has this or that bonus in a fog game as long as the stacks are not mentioned specifically. like saying "red has a huge stack to protect the X bonus and deploys more than you and me together blue", you want the other guy to acknowledge he saw the obvious from the log; but obviously mention it in the game chat; I see also no probs to write on the wall or by pm "check game chat".
But this PM is 100% secret diplomacy, no doubt.

Go to this page. The simplest way to do this is to select If --> Sender, is foe, delete message. This will automatically delete any Private Messages you receive from people on your foe list. You can add a player to your foe list from their profile page.
