I think there is problem with making the medals look different enough from each other. A lot of metals or medals look similar in color. So, even though they aren't metals, it may be a good idea to use some kind of gem, as was suggested earlier in the thread. So, perhaps ruby, emerald, diamond, sapphire, etc.

i have suggested it a few times to no avail.

The Metallic Medals
Bronze - 20
Silver - 100
Gold - 400
Platinum - 800


The Precious Stone Medals
Emerald - 1,600
Sapphire - 3,200
Ruby - 6,400
Diamond - 12,800

i disagree

diamond isn't a metal and i'd prefer that if it was indroduced that it is many levels above what we have now. for me, there is nothing above diamond so we'd be best to not introduce that level to early.

besides, if we have diamond, why not ruby, sapphire & emerald. they should be before diamond.

We also have the option of adding these precious stones or other insignia to the ribbon of the medal like the U.S. military does with oak leaf clusters.

I don't like the idea of a new medal. I'm still working up to gold, and adding a bunch of new medals would be very demoralizing to my attempts at attaining perfection.

yes, please don't use Diamond as no one would believe it is less than possible future expansions such as Ruby, Emerald, Saphire.
