apart from that, the sticker looks much better.

This is a great idea! Just make sure the shadow is the same perspective as the chalkboards. I'm still not up on the old west font for the title, but that could just be a personal thing.

dana, i don't have any issue with the title font, but i would like to see the star given the same drop shadow treatment as the title if that is possible, or something similar.
it looks simply flat, and out of place between the title words.
Also, and i am not requesting this, but have you thought about some outer shadow/drop shadow for the bull - very slight - just to lift it from the flatness of the background. :)

Seriously though, the red/brown/pink contrasts are a little hard to see. Make it a nice black star with the inside empty like a brand and problem solved.

speaking only as a player (since i'm not a graphics CA) i like this idea to make the stars stand out more.

I'll try and post a new version tomorrow with the stars standing out more, and the logo star reworked to work with the rest of the logo, as well as a peeling sticker.

OK, I think I got everything.
I tried making the stars black like a branding iron but they blended in with the text and were hard to see, so I tried off white which I think makes them stand out more.

you should have given 'reverts' a capital R as it is the start of a new sentance.

dana, the fold in the sticker does not work. What you need to do is to have the corner peel of the map slightly only. When you draw the lines for the sticker, change the angle up slightly. And draw the rest as normal. The have a shadow present under the peeled bit only. Having the shadow on all of the sticker makes it float above the map.

OK, Here's another version with the logo star cleaned up, the capital R put into "revert" and the peeling sticker reworked.

I only posted one image because the changes are small and didn't see the point in posting yet another small version and color blind version when you can see it works in the other version.

Let me know if you all spot anything else.

dana, that's much better. well done.
this is not important, but for consideration if you want.
the impassable fat barrier looks a little awkward out there...just from a design viewpoint, would it not be better in top right corner on it's own blackboard....which would also make blackboards in all four corners and even them up....just a thought, but i am not asking for it do be done if you don't think it will benefit the map or you're happy with it where it is. :)
i hope you get this stamped soon...it's been a long journey and would make me happy to see this for you. :D

I personally think it looks fine where it is (: Adding a fourth blackboard to cover all four corners might be quite overkill as well, hahaha :P

Sticker is much better. cairns is right though about the fat. Chuck it on a 4th blackboard and call it inedible fat, wording fits better with the name. Move the bottom left board down and put your sig beside it. No need to have the created by part, your name will suffice as you are doing all the work.

i agree, no need to have 'created by' as your name is evidence it was created by you.

every word on the map parts start with a capital except 2. i can understand if you want to keep a small o in Eye of Round even though all other words have a capital but Oxtail tip should be Oxtail Tip.

As far a a sig is concerned, I'd say add it to your 4th chalkboard phrased as follows: "Today's butcher: dana1971" But that's just me. ;)

Looking very good IMO.
I think the red color on the star doesn't quite match the red in the rest of the title - I think it needs to be a little darker.
Not trusting my eyes I asked Photoshop and he says the RGB on the red is...
Star: 102, 37, 43
Title: 104, 22, 34

I like the dual-tone on the starts. They do stand out better.

we can tell instantly that there are 4 stars on the cow now, so thumbs-up for the new stars.

remove the dots after Oxtail 2, Oxtail 3 and Oxtail 4, since these are not abbreviations. for consistency with the other three Marrow Bones, which are all abbreviated, maybe change L Fore Marrowbone to L F Marrowbone?

that is a good point, those dots should not be there.

i disagree here. i felt the map was about what name would fit rather than being consistent in the naming style so the slight difference for those terit's names felt right.

I think the impassable fat itself doesn't quite look right. It looks like linoleum or something in that its a bit too textured imho. What are the little bumps in it?
Otherwise this map is looking great. I wanted to see what the stars looked like as branding iron marks but eh,it's not my map. ;)

I tried the branding iron but the black blended in with the text. Its still branded but its white with a red center, wouldn't have done that without your comment. I can lower the fat texture easily enough.

Best wishes,
Dana
